I'd be pretty surprised if Rogan left to go to some other org. I'd imagine if he left he'd go do comedy or TV instead.

Yea, my impression is that he would just focus on other things. I don't think his issue is with the ufc.

With that said, he has implied in the past that he is torn about how much damage fighters take and the longterm consequences. Also, he pretty much openly talks sh*t about reebok at this point. I'm listening to Mouse on his podcast right now and he mentions how Mouse was partnered with Xbox until "Reebook f*cked it all up" then they just talk about how terrible reebok is. Also he and Schaub have openly talked about how part of the reason why Schaub retired is because Schaub's friends (including Rogan) encouraged him to when they found out how badly the reebok deal screwed him.

I agree that if he leaves, it's probably to do something else... but the thought of seeing Tito, Randy, Bendo, Stitch, and Rogan at a Bellator event sometime next year makes me LOL. I would give up Mendes/Frankie for that to happen.

Yeah, if you look the ceiling you can tell that it's a Dutch angle, where the camera is tilted. Dutch angles are most often uses in horror films to make a subject look uneasy. I don't know if this photo was taken by an amateur or a professional who was trying to make Overeem look weak in a subtle way.

Listening to Aljamain on mmahour, it doesn't sound very likely that he comes back to the ufc. At least not to me. He says their contract offer was "a slap in the face". I'm also wondering if they are anticipating this, which is why they buried him on the prelims of a fight pass card despite that being a pretty high level match between two ranked fighters.

I guess there's a big bust in Brazil regarding doping happening:

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission is about to unveil the results of a secret investigation conducted by its staff over the past few months, CABMMA chairman Rafael Favetti broke the news to MMAFighting.com on Tuesday.

The Brazilian commission, which oversees promotions likes the UFC, Shooto Brazil, Max Fight, Face to Face, Nitrix FC, has discovered a series of frauds committed by a mixed martial arts gym and an undisclosed number of fighters. As a result, those fighters will likely be banned from the sport.

"The commission has been doing a secret investigation against frauds in medical exams provided by athletes in several gyms," Favetti told MMAFighting.com. "We got to a point where we’re possibly dealing with a criminal gang, a gang that has as its motto to fraud medical exams for MMA athletes.

"We contacted hospitals and labs, and they also didn’t know they were involved in this fraud," he continued. "They are desperate. Our next step is taking this to the police and the Brazilian government agency for law enforcement and prosecution of crimes."

Favetti can’t reveal yet who are involved in this case, but guarantees it doesn’t involve any UFC fighters.

Listening to Rogan with Schaub/Callen. IDK, I may be listening to this crap too much because Rogan is really irritating me during this one. A few interesting tidbits though:

Rogan talks about how he was smoking weed in his hotel with Jon Jones "way before he was champion" lol. For reference, Bones became champ in Q1 2011.

Rogan/Schaub throwing around a lot of "drug testing" explanations for reasons why guys performance/bodies have been changing. Including but not limited to: Aldo/Barao/RDA/Vitor. I notice they didn't say it about Weidman though even though they talked about how much weight he had lost leading up to the Rockhold fight. I think Brendan may have made a noise or something, but nobody explicitly said it or implied it there. Seems like they mostly just peg Brazilians as the roidheads for whatever reason.

Bit of a stretch, but Serra has said that he is currently on TRT. And IIRC he's always been with Longo. Why would he need to be on TRT after his career is over... ;)
Could be a little smoke.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/12/18/10510576/addition-of-weight-classes-iv-ban-proposed-at-historic-weight-cutting

Chairperson Sean Wheelock said Thursday at the California State Athletic Commission's weight-cutting summit that the committee has approved a plan to alter and add weight classes to the unified rules of mixed martial arts.

The outline for the new divisions would be as follows, by division: 115, 125, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185, 195, 205, 225, 265 (heavyweight) and super heavyweight. The 170-pound division would be abolished.

The 10-person committee approved this change by a vote of 9-0 with one abstention. The plan will now go to the medical committee, chaired by CSAC executive officer Andy Foster. If approved there, Association of Boxing Commissions president Mike Mazzulli will send it to the board of directors and it will be voted on by the ABC body at the annual meeting in August.

Of course, any changes to the Unified Rules of MMA would then have to be adopted by the individual state and tribal athletic commissions. A promotion like the UFC or Bellator would also be under no obligation to adopt them, but Jeff Novitzky, the UFC vice president of athlete health and performance, said he has spoken with UFC matchmakers Joe Silva and Sean Shelby and they are not against changes.

Thoughts?

I like the idea of 115 as it'll get some Thai and Filipino fighters work in North America...

I think I would rather go with 150-165-180-190 instead of 145-155-165-175-185-195. Love the idea of splitting up the HWs and adding SHW.

Splitting HWs is the only necessary adjustment imo. If you create that many divisions, you'll kill the sport. The less divisions, especially at the lower weight classes the better. Talk about saturation.

Adding a 115 division would be a nightmare to me. I already don't enjoy the 125/135 divisions. 145 is the lowest I have interest in.
