Wait until you find out that it was me who hatcheted RHJ's ankle.

Lol...with unprotected picks, it's not as far fetched as one may think.

RHJ is a major loss for the Nets-- they were 8.2 points per 100 possessions with him on the court vs off it. Interesting turn of events for the Celtics.

I am now more confident than ever about the Nets finishing with a bottom 5 record. Before the season even began, I was very worried by RHJ doing enough to hurt the Celtics pick. Now he should be out a couple of month which limits his impact this season.

I'm going to defend Slart here. When I advocated a Nets type rebuilding trade for picks in the summer of 2013, I obviously was hoping whichever team Ainge traded with had some bad luck if Ainge actually did the sort of move I was suggesting instead of a trade focused on a young player. If I could "push a button" and get specific Nets players injured, I wouldn't do that but obviously I hope they get worse luck with injuries than other bad teams this year.

I consider the NFL/NBA as very different when thinking about injuries on teams that you don't root for. In the NFL, there are so many injuries and players contracts are not guaranteed, I wish every player 100% health.

The NBA is a bit different given the importance of the draft and more trades for draft picks so ideally I would like a Lopez to get a minor injury that keeps him out the season and the Nets trade him for nothing and then I'm fine if he recovers completely on some other team and has a healthy career as long as that team isn't the Lakers or Knicks.

If I was an NBA player, I would honestly take it as a compliment that opposing fans communicating in an online forum were ok with me getting hurt. (I would be more upset if they thought I sucked so much that they were hoping I played more minutes.) Now at games in person in any sport, I think its crappy for fans to be cheering any injury after it occurs. And FWIW I think it was actually very bad that some Patriots fans booed the team at halftime. Those fans sure seem spoiled to me.

So now we have to apologize for being happy Nets key players get hurt???? Please. I hope the whole team gets hurt......its not like they are going to be crippled for life.....they'll be fine eventually. Whatever it fn takes to get a Top 3 pick as far as I'm concerned.....we need a STUD.

Bad night for the outsource tanks. Pelicans of course lost (go us?), but so did Minny and Dallas won.

But that KG dunk on Griffin was pretty sweet.

Well, not sure about basketball gods and all but I'm pretty sure I'm still on Santa's Nice List... celebrating injury of another for personal gain ??? I'd be a little bit worried if I were you...

And you really shouldn't be worried, the Basketball Gods still have Billy King running the Net show, it is like Christmas coming early for you guys..

If it hasn't been mentioned already, the Pelicans are very aware of the kid around the corner. No doubt in my mind they're conducting the all-in tank job.

I know I'm a little late to this game, but if the Billy King avi wasn't so great, maybe you could go for something like this: Image

Anyhoo, obligatory bad feels for RHJ the person aside, the effect on the Nets should be enormous.

Check out the RPM rankings just released.

RHJ leads 2-guards by a mile in D-RPM , and is 7th overall among SGs in RPM. That's elite roleplayer territory.

His replacements - Ellington, Brown and Bogey - are ranked 75th, 76th and 89th respectively.

This is the equivalent of replacing Lopez with Bargnani.

They're considering trading Ryan Anderson for Markieff Morris, clearly a tank move. They should try to trade Asik or Pondexter instead.

I actually like that trade for NOP. Morris I think would play much better outside of Phoenix (pretty clear he's dogging it to force their hand) and Ryno is close to a net negative at this point - he's so bad defensively that he really has to pour in the points to help.

Morris as a 2-way player would fit much better next to AD.

That will salvage the Pels' season if Kieff is locked in. Another case of Phoenix screwing up on the human/chemistry front and getting .25 on the dollar, if that.

How is this a tank move when Anderson reportedly (it's not like I watch 'em) plays so poorly on D?
It's more crap-swapping move like CHA and LAC did with Hawes and Stephenson. Phoenix would never take Asik with his current contract. It's hard to gauge Morris' market, but trading him to LAC for Stephenson could be an option? Surely better than taking Asik's 50 mil. over 5 years when they have Chandler and Len at C.

Big games tonight:

Blazers at Cavaliers

Rockets at Nets

Magic at Nuggets

Jazz at Kings

Starting at the end. Just win Sactown! We need your help!

Nuggets at home in the high altitude, can they extend their winning streak to 3 vs one of the tougher teams in the east ?

Rockets slowly making their way back after a bad start, could go up to .500 with a win, and revenge their home loss to BKN!

Blazers, surprisingly good this season and Cavs are in a slump lately..

Man, Hollins really leans on his starters. Four guys have 11+ minutes in the first quarter.
