Tough loss. The GSW are just too good and Thompson was ridiculous.
I think the past three games the Pacers have gotten exposed a bit on defense. I know Golden State is one of the greatest teams ever created, but not many excuses to giving up 86 first half points. But i also believe the defense is why they lost a few nights ago in Salt Lake City too. Will be interesting to see how they adjust for the Heat game coming up.
All in all, i will say i was pleasantly impressed by the fight and will of the Pacers to make it an effort to get back into it. They could of easily just checked out and lost by 30 and moved on. They didn't though. To the fanbase and i think nationally it became such a big game because people felt the Pacers could possibly be the team to knock them off 22-0 start. But, in all reality, it was just game #20 for the Pacers. They need a strong bounce back weekend though and end their own losing streak.
Any thoughts or comments on the game tonight?

Postgame: GSW cruise past Pacers
I got a couple things I'd like to say. First off give solo mins bench bud an give solo his minutes this team need defense an that's what solo gives you the stretches he's played in this year he really doesn't look that bad. Second, this team need a number two scorer monta hasn't lived up to what the pacers thought he was going to do. No one can change my mind on this that this team doesn't not have a second go to scorer miles is to streaky to be one monta hasn't done it yet an GHill hasn't looked like the aggressive hill. I was reading on pacers digest earlier tonight an came across something that I was like wow that's so true this team only truly has 1 starting caliber player an he's a superstar but CJ miles on a contending team like say Spurs, Warriors, cavs, he would not start neither would Ian, or I'd even say GHill. Monta is hit or miss on this because to me he looks injured. Lastly one thing I'd love to see is when turner gets back I kind of want to see him play the four position he has the range I just wanna see what it would look like. With all of this said I hope frank lets monta rest the next couple games an start GRIII move miles down to SG an have solo come off the bench in place of bud. An one last thing I'm looking at the big picture here the next 1-2 years or so I hope Larry can somehow use some magic an get Paul George another star to play with because if he doesn't I really don't see PG retiring a pacer.

Re: Postgame: GSW cruise past Pacers
The Warriors are unbeatable when Klay Thompson goes off like that. He was hitting everything and that can demoralize an opponent.
Solo is really bringing the energy, definitely like him out there more than Bud. Hes earned more PT thats for sure.
Pacers need to get away from the offense being the Paul George show. Him playing hero ball will not maximize the potential of this team. I know hes been hot, but I question how sustainable it is. Id just like to see us work to get easier shots. Monta and Hill need to step up, but George also needs to help get them involved. Again, PG has been amazing but he can easily get into chuck mode which kills an offensive flow.

Re: Postgame: GSW cruise past Pacers
The Warriors are incredible, seriously good offensively, but that first half was an abomination that should not have occurred. I agree with ThirtyOne that we need to distribute the possession a bit better and we really, really need to sort out the defense.
What has been disappointing these last three games is that nobody really stepped up to help PG when he needed it, GHill has looked very tame so far and I expect more of him, Monta is beginning to look like a bad signing, Allen is being exposed. Miles is doing better than I thought he would do and is a plus. Stuckey is playing the way he did last year and that is solid enough. The only other small plus is Mahinmi who I didn't expect to be this solid, but even then, he isn't quite the center we need (I still think we need to get Turned starting the second half of the season). Budinger doesn't add anything at all in my opinion and JHill is too much of a defensive liability to be of use, especially against strong offensive teams. I just don't think he will be of use in a play-off situation.
After the winning run I was getting excited about this team, this new losing run has dampened my spirits. It is a long season and I do still believe we can be a contender in the East, but for that to happen our backcourt in particular needs to pick it up and alleviate some of the offensive pressure on PG.
But the biggest thing we need to fix is the defense, Solo is an answer to some defensive puzzles, but I just don't think he is a starting calibre player, at all. And I'd be surprised if he developed into one. Add to that the fact that Miles mostly does what Solo does defensively and is not a black hole on offense and the case for Solo getting a bigger role is closed as far as I am concerned.
I think we might see a trade soon, one of those left-wing Larry Bird specials that nobody will see coming and I have a feeling the play he will make will be for a new starting point guard, if he can find one.

Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

There will be a few trades late next week when December 14th hits. Several teams are working things out in advance. I'm thinking that Solo is out the door. I'm not sure who's coming in though.
Don't be too hard on Budinger. When he's on the floor the Pacers take/maintain leads. They were +18 with Budinger on the floor (18 minutes) last night. The only other positive +/- was Solo, interestingly enough.
By the way, Europacer, Vogel really is Dutch for Bird! All this time I thought you were just putting something witty in your sig...

@MNPacersfan
Haha! Yes it is indeed
I might be too hard on Bud, I just don't like his game I suppose, he deserves some more time though. Solo himself isn't enough of a trade-piece so there would have to be someone else involved, or maybe even a pick? Pretty hard to gauge what might occur.

The adjustment that needed to be made was putting Paul on Klay earlier. Budinger or Robinson shouldve played more. In fact, the team would have matched up better with Budinger, Paul and CJ instead of Monta. Monta is undersized at the two so its a mismatch on most nights with whomever he's guarding. Add in the fact that he isnt scoring much and he becomes not worth playing.

Here's the deal. Mostly you can't much stop Curry so.. if Klay gets hot...you're screwed.SmashMouthRod wrote:The adjustment that needed to be made was putting Paul on Klay earlier. Monta? He's good. I still wonder why nobody uses him as a PG. That is where he could shine. Solo + Bud.. ain't standouts but both played solid. I expected Mahimini to be better..... turnstile on D. PG? Playing great. Needs more help.
CENSORED... No comment.

That... was WAY too easy.

Hill defended Curry fairly well in spells. Klay is the one who killed Indy in this game. I agree about the lobs. Monta should come off the bench.

Re: Postgame: GSW cruise past Pacers
Monta has been a much better backup point guard for us than I expected. But we do need to see him attack more. I agree both him and George Hill need to focus on getting theirs offensively.
