GT: CHA @ MEM Friday, 12/11 8:00 PM EST

Post#1 » by yosemiteben » Thu Dec 10, 2015 3:04 pm

Two games ago MEM got smacked down by OKC, then they managed to squeak out a win against DET last night on a miracle shot by Barnes. If that shot had not gone down, they would have lost three of their last four, including two 20+ point losses.

This will be an interesting game from a matchup perspective. Hope we can keep the win streak alive.

One big difference I noticed with Cody is that when he goes up for a finish he keeps his eyes open.

memphis has been a really weird team this year. feels like every other game they get beat by 20.

I'm scheduled to work Friday night once a month and it just so happens to be tomorrow night. It really sucks because I would have gone to this game in person if I wasn't working.

It would be interesting to see if Cody can contain Mark Gasol or at least lower his efficiency.

Can I make one suggestion for the game threads...

I know we discussed locking the old threads at the time we open a new game thread. Can we make exceptions to that rule to at least leave a game thread open for 24 hours after a game before locking? I'm sure there's a few people who watch the games on delay and don't get a chance to comment on the game until the next day.

Just my two cents...

if you want, feel free to make hammer threads into postgame/hammer threads.

Yeah I was gonna ask if anyone know what MJ was joking with Lin about after the win as they exit the court in the game thread, only to find out it was locked. :P

How about we have separate game threads and post game threads. Game threads are locked when game ends, post games are locked the morning of the second day after the game (so you always have the entire next day to talk about the previous day's game)?

for those keeping up with Jeff Green's career-long journey to at least once be a player who has a positive on/off effect on his team... he's failing at it again. After an overall encouraging start to the season, he's hit an awful stretch of games.

The Grizzlies are the worst when Jeff Green is on the court (sans Brandan Wright's limited sample size due to injury) - -8.8 per 100 poss.
They are the best when Green is off the court. That's also the only scenario in which they have been a positive team - +0.4 per 100 poss.

what's even funnier is that they have had some of those horrible blowouts, which could affect some players. well, if you take the last 15 games (and thus exclude the two worst of them, the Cavs and Warriors ones), Green's stats are even worse.

-7.5 with him, +7.8 without him.

Not a big fan of locking game threads TBH. Having a post game thread could be a solution.

Jeff Green is seriously a big waste of talent.

What's in the water in Charlotte? You guys are killing it this year. Undefeated Panthers, damn near 1st in the east, NBA MVP from there? What gives? 2 MVPS in Charlotte possible this year? I don't know, but you guys are making sports fun.

That pic pretty well sums up Kemba's approach to basketball.

Last game I went to Walker scorched Conley for 31 and we won

Stupid Fox Sports SouthEast is showing some random college basketball game tomorrow night during the game. I'm assuming that is just their usual TWC TV guide screw up. Always make me nervous when setting the DVR and I see that crap. Get it together TWC/FSSE

I'm afraid of Gasol, not Conley...
