Marcus Morris has been incredible

Post#1 » by Navas » Sun Dec 13, 2015 4:50 pm

I had my doubts about him, but he's so far squashed them.

Last night he defended Paul George very well, holding hm to 13. Over the last few games, Morris has been averaging 17 points while playing a heavy minute load.

As I said, I had my doubts, but from day one he's surprised me. Excellent scorer, reliable defender, and he hasn't been a problem at all.

I wouldn't say he's been incredible but he's been very good and a big part of our record. That trade was a steal though, A 2020 second rounder.

Everyone was saying he is a cancer/lockerroom problem but he has been really good for us. When his shot isn't falling he is still valuable cause he plays very solid defense.

Prior to the draft he was projected to be the better Morris twin and it looks like he just took a bit longer to get there cause he's definitely better than Kieff now.

While he's far from an allstar, he's been very useful so far. Absolute heist by Pistons.

I just can't believe the Suns. They trade away Marcus who's locked in at 5 mil per for the next 4 years for a 2nd rd pick while also pissing off one of their more productive players in Markieff. All for some wet dream of signing LA. That FO has made some very questionable moves over the years.

Are we sure the brothers didn't switch teams and it's Markieff on the Pistons?

He's been very good, might not turn out to be the bad Morris brother after all.

Morris is leading the league in +/-.
With as many minutes as he's played you at the very least have to be playing at all star levels to do that.
Morris is probably the most underrated player in the NBA right now.

I hate his game and think his terrible shot selection and poor shooting are a big reason the offense has been so terrible.

He was a steal, both he and Ersan were awesome pick ups for SVG.

Morris saved us in the first half last night and was giving PG the biz on both ends.

His demeanour and toughness is really rubbing off on the team and I like it.

Proof?

I'd say Steph Curry probably blows him and any non Warrior out the water in +/-...

Yup. I wasn't a fan of LMA to begin with since I think he's a soft PM that gets all his points on 15-17 foot jump shots.

The suns basically had a cheaper version of LMA in Keef...at least when he was motivated.

Marcus got hate from suns fans on his play but I never understood it. He was very efficient and was a huge asset in our second unit.

You could argue that with a motivated Keef and Marcus, the suns problems (starting PF and depth at SF) would be solved.

But before you judge the suns, the Morris twins did really force the front office into a corner with their attitude and off court antics. They assaulted a dude, Marcus cussed out Hornacek on Live TV, they caused problems in the locker room, and they racked up technical fouls at a ridiculous pace. We had to do something. Maybe we just should have been patient.

It won't last. Dude's a hothead and I wouldn't want him on my team.

You're going to have to explain that, Especially the poor shot selection part.

He doesn't. Curry has been unreal this year, but amazingly enough Morris has him beat in +/-. I'm pretty sure Curry is #2 right now.

Morris- plus 28.9
Curry- plus 26.8
