He's worth it. I just hope they can get some more help around him.

Agreed, he's earned that contract. Now re-sign Crosby and Starks and I think that checks off my 3 biggest offseason goals. Anyone know what our cap will look like now that they've released the projections? (I'm too lazy and Spotrac isn't always up to date).
I'm assuming we'll still have quite a bit of cap room to work with.

They just need to rework Peppers' contract or let him go.

Curious what Peppers contract is for next year. He's an invisible man more often than not
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They should have quite a bit left. Peppers will be gone and i think that saves 8 million next year if theycut him.

I'm not so sure. Neal and Perry are both free agents and between them and Peppers, that's a lot of pass-rush production potentially heading out the door. I don't want to be in a similar situation as 2011 when we didn't have guys that could step in when Jenkins left.
I'd try and get Peppers to restructure and front load a nice 2-year "retirement" deal (aka make him waive-able after next year). He hasn't had quite the same impact as last year, but he's still a valuable commodity on passing downs with how much nickel Capers tends to run.

Re: Daniels signs extension
This is huge news, very good to hear.
Mickey - Peppers is not invisible, no way. He may not show up on the stat sheet a lot, but he is a headache for opposing o-lines to deal with. Add in the locker room and sideline veteran presence lacking without Charles Woodson, I'd say he's worth every penny of whatever his contract is. Even as frugal as Ted is with aging players, I'd be shocked if he isn't brought back for one final season. Just my opinion.

Re: Daniels signs extension
I think Peppers will be back but we definitely need more OLB depth and another ILB who can cover to keep Clay roaming

Re: Daniels signs extension
I'm fine with having Peppers back but it has to be a smaller deal. $4-$5 million tops.

Re: Daniels signs extension
Peppers would get an additional $8 million next year. An additional $2.5 million is dead money no matter if he stays or goes. so $10.5 total cap hit.

From that tweet, $12 million is the signing bonus, not the guaranteed money.

Re: Daniels signs extension
To me, that seems like a pretty good deal. No telling what he would get come free agency. Glad he's locked up.

Nice extension. Peppers will be back; I don't think they'll waive or restructure him.

Re: Daniels signs extension
That is a good extension for the Packers. We need Peppers to either be making nothing or be on another team at this point next year.

At this point he should be around the vet minimum. Outside of the Stafford play, it's pretty clear he's out of gas and can't beat average tackles like he could last year. Huge transition coming at OLB next year with probably one of Peppers, Neal and Perry back.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Re: Daniels signs extension
I can't believe I'm typing this, but I think they should try and resign Datone Jones for his pass rush.
