With Exum out for the season and Gobert now down "indefinitely", it looks like another year of "patience" for the Jazz. We were already looking to top out as a fringe playoff team, and now who knows.

Our needs are pretty well-known: a stop-gap point guard and a stretch 4.

Our available assets USED TO include ~$7M capspace, a ~$5M expiring, and multiple first round picks. Now I'm not sure we're actually going to do anything, just play it out. We'll see what happens when Gobert returns, whenever that is.

I think you prettymuch nailed it. I would quibble a little. But, not a lot. For instance, I'm not really seeing a stretch 4 as a need as much as the average person. I think that would be more of a luxury add. And we've got Lyles to grow into that role so, not only would it be a luxury but a short term one, IMHO.

And a stop gap PG would be great, but, I wouldn't be dangling 1sts unless I was getting a stop gap that could play alongside Exum next year. So, I think I'd more be looking for someone in the 2nd rounder and cap room range. And that might not get you anyone better than what we have, so might not even do that.

Also not sure how easily I move Booker. He's not off limits by any means, but, with Gobert down it would be really difficult to upgrade the PG position while downgrading our backup big position.

I think Jazz are in a patient/vulture mode currently. If someone good comes on the market, Jazz have some assets to throw into the ring. Say a Bledsoe or Rubio gets dangled out there. But, I think the Jazz are also set to stand pat and play for next season if nothing enticing comes along. I don't see them making any panic moves this season.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Chuck assessment of the Mavs is pretty accurate. I would just refine it by saying a big who is a legit threat rolling to the basket or a wing who is a legit threat to drive and score. We are missing both of those from last season, and it shows in our offense.

We are also lacking in trade assets. Dirk is Dirk. Wes and Parsons are pretty untradeable due to injury/contract. Zaza, Deron, and Felton are useful expirings, but are playing an important role, so they would be difficult to trade without taking a step back. Powell has value, but it would take a very good deal for the Mavs to give him up. Leaving Anderson as the most valuable/tradeable asset we have right now.

So finding a good trade for the Mavs will be a tall order, and I think they will most likely stand pat, hoping for improvement from within, or to find a waiver wire move like Amare last season.

Needs: A solid 2 way SG or backup wing, preferably able to play the 2 or 3. Wouldn't mind a better backup PG but really Augustin's fine.

Assets available are limited though, no firsts available so: Waiters, maybe Augustin if a PG is coming back, McGary, Huestis, any seconds, and Charlotte's second. Can send Novak for salary (expiring).

Have we chatted about Ross for mcgary? And anything else that needs to be involved?

No, but I'd counter with....well no.

Toronto is for a upgrade at the power forward spot as well.

We have Terrence Ross, Patrick Patterson, Norman Powell, Bebe Noguira, The Clippers 2017 first round pick, our 2016 and 2017 first round picks plus The Knicks if need be

You can start the chat with the word "never" and end it with "that's crazy".

Brooklyn Nets fan hre:

after a rough 0-7 start and probably the toughest opening schedule in the league the nets have won 7 out of their last 16 playing slightly below 500 ball in that span (7-16 overall)

what do we need? what don't we need!!!

well shooters at anyone of the perimeter shooter sto start, pont guard that can run an offense, and to take a chance on a young prospect that may not be working out for his current roster.

what we will readily give away: joe johnson expiring contract / Jarrett jack expiring contract

available: Bojan Bogdanovic / Brook Lopez

will listen but not looking to move unless its really good: Thad young / RHJ

Just curious.

What direction do you see orlando going in regards to their assets?

Is there a particular position that yall were wanting to fill?

Are you hoping to consolidate your assets, or do you want to stick with the current core? AKA who do you view/ want staying for the long haul?

I see a lot of interesting pieces, but none of them really seem to fit.

Sorry if a little loaded, but I was wanting to get a take on the direction of this team. Looking for some input from any magic fans. Ty for any responses.

Boy are you going to be disappointed in what you get back if the Nets actually trade Jack.
