Cut Cunningham?good or bad move?

Post#1 » by improvisor » Tue Dec 15, 2015 8:52 pm

In less than a month the Cavs have to decide if he's worth $5,000,000(800,000+ plus the lux tax). I end up liking the guy and he seems to be back to where he belongs anyways since he was drafted here in the first place. Since the gaurd position is super crowded and we have no clue if Kaun can play center in the nba and the fact that Harris is Gauranteed, Cunninham's time here might be shorter than we think.
What you think we should do? I think we should keep him but if a decent rim protector is available then should we let him go?

Keep him. He's 1,000 times better than J. Harris, Mo Williams can't defend a chair, and we just played 20 games without our starting back court due to injury.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Obviously I'd want to keep him, but keeping him will take a major toll on Gilbert's wallet, so to him, it might not be worth it to keep a guy like that on the bench when he probably won't even see minutes in the playoffs.

The thing is rim protection after Mozgov is really not there. We have great rebounders and TT is ok at rim protection but is just Mozgov enough?

Harris is on the trade block according to Loyd, seeking a 2nd Rd pick. This will give Cunningham a roster spot and room to add a big. Please happen! I got this info from the score app.

How did Cunningham negotiate a $5M roster bonus?

Anyway, I probably wouldn't keep him for that, but hope they do. This team lacks athleticism (sorta).

It does make sense for them to dump Harris if they can, but I don't understand why they'd be looking to add a big. What they need is a long defensive wing. They've got bigs.

It won't be 5 million going to him. The tax makes it 5 million Gilbert has to pay, sorry for not clearing that up earlier.

What I saw didn't say we are targeting a big, it just said that Harris should be on the block for a 2nd. He was showcased in the d league to gain some value.i got this info from the score app and can't post a link.
