Juve just sold Coman and Vidal to Bayern but ok. Chelsea is a seller club, too, if they want to buy new players.

United have bent over for Real Madrid almost every time they've come calling. A fax machine prevented it from happening again this past summer.

You are missing the point. They wanted to sell him not because of money issue they are having at the club. They tried to sell him because he was gonna go for free as his contract was expiring and he went off with the media that he will never play for Manu.

Manu wanted to sell but it is not because of they are a selling club or they have financial difficulties. They wanted to sell because of contract issue and de gea being childish.

I agree with you that bayern have established a monopoly in the BuLi but really it's impossible for clubs to keep their players from bayern/madrid/barca.. even bayern couldn't keep kroos from madrid. United lost heinze , beckham , and Ronaldo as well to RM.

Though with the new TV deal I expect that balance to shift dramatically to English teams' favour next year.

Frankfurt fouled only three times in this game but still managed to have someone sent off.

That was a harsh call, even if they were being outclassed regardless.

I just don't know what to say anymore.

Tony Jantschke suffered a knee injury against Leverkusen and will have surgery tommorow.
Spox is already reporting that it's a cruciate ligament rupture(the third player this season) and that he'll be out for the remainder of the season...

Brutal second half for Gladbach btw, they can really use the winter break.

Looking at this game Bayern can use it, too. They look terrible.

Jan Kirchhoff got a minute of game action last night.

Probably this will convince him again that he has a chance to make it at Bayern and will fight for his chance...just like Rode (except Rode actually gets a few minutes here and there).

What a clown he is...even for Mainz standards he was a terribly inconsistent player with little upside and often slapstick defending. I have no idea how this dude ever got a contract at Bayern.

US fans really need to take a page from football fans and start singing in the stadium. I watched my Avs stun the Blackhawks at the United Center yesterday and though they were loud and good spirited; there were far too many lulls in the volume even before they accepted that Colorado was doing it to them again. If those hockey fans developed some songs to carry the volume the UC would be a pretty extraordinary experience.

Still had fun as one of 6 people in avs jerseys at the game, but I couldn't stop quietly signing Union/Eisbär songs and wondering why fans don't sing in the US.

We certainly need that winter break as the team looks really gassed and produces mistake after mistake.

Still, those minutes around that 2nd goal by Bremen summed up the match.
First Hazard shoots it at the inside of the post and it goes out, then Bremen hits the post and the ball goes directly to the foot of Vestergaard(who scored) and then Hazard's shot is blocked by the thigh of a Bremen player and misses goes about a shade right from the post.

Still, if you're giving up that third goal as easily as we did you just don't belong into the quater final of the cup.

Anyways, gotta hope that the team will be able to chin up and at least produce something on Sunday with Darmstadt coming to Borussia Park.
They're deadly on set pieces and we can't defend them.
Probably time to call for a header-hattrick by Sulu...

BTW: I really hope Eberl signs someone during the winter break with all those question marks about those injured guys(Jantschke will be out three months) and with Nordtveit then being able to give Dahoud a breather here and there at CM.
Seems like Hinteregger(Salzburg) could be a good bet to join us and Sport Bild is now reporting that Drmic can leave the club in the winter.
Though, they've never been right on anything Gladbach related.

On another note, Marca's reporting that Guardiola will leave Bayern at the end of the season.
What a shocker that would be...

If I ever make it to Chicago I'm going to sing Union songs with you (at a Bulls game of course).

We're actually going to play a Cup game after the winter break. Feels like this hasn't happened in a decade. That's all you need to know about our season

If we can finally get a home game (and avoid Bayern) later, it'd be a perfect night.

No home game but a relatively free ride to the next round against Heidenheim

Pep to the EPL and Carlo to Bayern? Ancelloti is probably the best replacement out there. Hopefully pep signs an extension with bayern or takes a sabbatical again

In order for Pep to take over the team, that team has to be superior to others 7 times or so. Like Bayern to others, or Barca to others at that time. As soon as Real got stronger, he left right away.

As long as I don't have to watch my knicks get curb-stomped, I can get on board with this. Especially now that I've watched you guys play more than I have the knicks for the past 5-6 seasons...since finding out that my best friend of many years was a secret basketball fan. As almost none of the friends in our extended group were sports fans, discovering this took some time lol. And luckily rooting for the Bulls has become much easier the further from Jordan's career we've gotten; cause **** that guy, as if being a knicks fan wasn't painful enough;...and them adding guys I liked (Noah, Buckets, Pau, and that constantly injured local kid), while having some fun battles with the Pacers (who I still can't stand) hasn't hurt.

I've not paid much attention to Hinteregger; but he sounds like he'd be a very useful transfer. Seems a nice talent, and crucially seems a pretty developed one; someone who may need some time to adjust to a new team and league, but won't need time to learn the position like Elvedi, Christensen, and Schulz still do. With Alvaro, Tony, and Stranzl's injury problems this season another "vet" at CB would be very helpful; particularly if Schubert wants to keep playing with the back 3 and isn't just using it out of necessity/desperation.
