I missed most of the first half working, but in the second half, the defense was lackadaisical. Hawes in particular had a poor game, with only one rebound in 18 minutes and weak defense, as I pointed out earlier. Zeller had two rebounds in 23 minutes. The team was out-rebounded 40-33 as a result.

He was the second most trigger-happy (front court touches/field goal attempts) player last season. So you have a good feel-o-meter about him.

j-ragg wrote:Marvin actually looks good. Especially defensively he was swatting everything. I had the impression fans weren't high on him.

It's his contract year. Marv's in terrific shape and has become quite a versatile forward. I wrote about his great year on here, you can give it a read if you're interested:

Disaster of a game. Lost $20, had to endure the ridicule of my Magic fan family, and no one laughed when I called Fournier 'The Bearded Lady." Not even the 12th time I loudly slurred it.

Zero effort by the Hornets. Terrible.

On the flip side, great seats with waiters that kept me in tall cans of hops.

Thought they said PJ had a sore foot, but he later on return to the game.

That was weird, how does one recover from a sore foot in 10 minutes? Thought they should have put Lamb in to start the 2nd half at SG, he was playing well but didn't get enough minutes.

It wasn't very pretty when he was in the game either. -11 in 20 minutes.

Batum wasn't the reason we lost tonight, we played poorly in nearly every facet and that includes Batum's defense.

The points off of TOs killed us Batum had some bad turnovers resulting in a 4 or 5 point swing each time. One was on an easy fast break for us where he threw a lazy pass resulting in an interception and 3 point shot on the other end. Anyways, onto tonights game....

Don't agree. Lin played best in the first half of guys off the bench. Lamb shot well, but in other aspects of the game like turning the ball over an defense, Lin played better. Lamb didn't play great to me, he scored well. He still shouldn't try to facilitate when the defenses clamp down on him. Pass the ball to a facilitator, let them facilitate and set you up.

Still in all, it seems Lin starting the 3rd threw him out of rhythm perhaps? At any rate, shouldn't happen. On to the next game.

Lamb outplayed Lin last night, but Lamb is better off the bench anyway, as is Lin. Don't really like the way Lin and Walker play together at times.

Pretty much everyone was terrible in their own way. Expecting a much better game tonight

Right, some of those passes were lackadaisical, too.

In what way? I saw a lot of the same dribble into traffic and make mistakes from Lamb as in the other games. I guess that's why I wasn't happy with him. I'm glad he got his scoring touch back. But defensively and anything not relating to scoring, Lin did better. He handled the pressure really well last night and that's what I thought was a big positive from Lin. He just shot poorly in the 2nd half, but he had a nice first half.

I do agree, Liver_Pooty that both Lin and Lamb are better off of the bench. In the starting lineup you lose the weapon of change of energy they provide.

Lamb played well last night, but not good enough to change the game. He had not played well for 3-5 games before last night? Let's hope every player would play their best game tonight.

they need it...against the team thats looking like the #2 team in the east so far. Im also conflicted for this game. Raptors are my hometown team, and their players are familiar to me. On the other hand, ive been a fan of lin for the past few years and this season by extension im also a fan of the hornets. So I guess what im trying to say is I wouldn't mind if my raptors gave the hornets a solid beating :D :D

Hey I can see myself in that picture! I was in the same boat, had to deal with my g/fs family we went with who are magic fans...Only saw like 4 Hornets fans in the whole arena...I was rocking my Lance Stephenson jersey since my MKG hasnt come in yet : ) Just an ugly game all around by us and a great game by them, it happens, you move on.

we agree but sick batum is better than no batum at all on this team. With him out it put Charlotte's chances of coming back near the bottom. We've all seen this team in the hands of Kemba before and it's an adventure at best and this game at worst.

Nice! The lance jersey is awesome and will just get awesomer as he becomes an NBA blip on the radar. I was surprised by how die hard the Magic fans are - I always kind of assumed they'd be more 'Disney-ish' - same boat though - there was only one guy in teal within sight, but he was head to toe. I opted for the Bogues for this occasion.
