Amazing stats for our guys in the CLUTCH.

Post#1 » by zeebneeb » Thu Dec 17, 2015 7:05 am

So I read in the game thread I believe about reggie having the most points when it matters so I did a little digging and in keeping with the trend of finding out just how good our starters are overall, here are some stats on how they play when it counts.

Now for the most impressive stats in the "clutch" (5 minutes to go up or down)

+/- STAT.

Top three in THE LEAGUE are all Pistons.

1.)Marcus Morris +51
2.)Reggie Jackson +50
3.)Caldwell-Pope +50
-
-
10.)Andre Drummond +31
-
-
14.)Erson Ilyasova +28
-
-
24.)Aron Baynes +24

All 5 of our starters are in the top 15 and one bench player in the top 25. That's just amazing to me.

POINTS IN THE CLUTCH

1.)Reggie Jackson 79 points
-
-
16.) Andre Drummond 39 points

REBOUNDS IN THE CLUTCH

1.) Andre Drummond 28 rebounds

FREE THROW ATTEMPTS

1.)Reggie Jackson 34/37 91.9%

What a starting group Stan has put together. Only 27 games in and they lead or are at the top in a bunch of catagories but I never knew how good they were when it counted.

Who are the players ranked 2-5 in points in the clutch for the league? Sorry, just curious. This is an awesome stat and I've felt while watching that Jackson really turns it up late.

Ever since Stan got that tech complaining about that non-call on Reggie at the beginning vs LAC, Jackson is avg 12.5 FTAs the last 2 games and making 11 of them. He's avg 9 over the last 3 games on 89%

Good that he's actually getting calls now, somebody that drives to the basket as much as he does should be getting a lot of FTAs.

You want to know what kind of elite company a freshly minted bad ass point guard is hanging with? (Man the rest of the league and certainly OKC looks just stupid)

Reggie leads the league in TOTAL points scored in the clutch and is THIRD overall in clutch PPG average.

Look at this list and tell me if Reggie is not absolutely a top 5 PG in this league.

CLUTCH PPG AVERAGE. (points scored in the last 5 minutes of a game up or down)

1.)Curry 6.6 PPG
2.)James 5.6 PPG
3.)Jackson 5.3 ppg
4.)Durant 4.8 ppg
5.)Harden 4.3 ppg
6.)George 4.0 ppg
7.)Westbrook 3.9 ppg
8.)Thomas 3.8 ppg (boston)
9.)Wall 3.5 ppg
10.)Wiggins 3.4 ppg

CLUTCH POINT TOTALS COMBINED WITH +/- TO SHOW EFFECTIVENESS

1.)Jackson 79points +50
2.)James 67points +10
3.)Wiggins 61points -14
4.)Harden 60points +16
5.)Curry 50points +37
6.)Westbrook 55points -8
7.)Wall 53points 0
8.)Durant 48points -5
9.)Griffin 44points +2
10.)DeRozan 44points +12
-
-
16.)Drummond 39points +31

That's end of game dominance and combined with Andre and their crazy ass pick and roll of doom end of games is when Reggie just goes **** bananas.

Bonus stat, Andre in the clutch is also amazing for a Ron of stats but his most impressive (to me anyway) is that he is 15/30 on free throws when it counts. If that was his season average I would be extatic.

1. Curry

3. Lowry
4. Chris Paul
5. John Wall, Damian Lillard, Reggie Jackson?

I'd say he's pretty damn close to top 5, 7th best at worst unless i'm forgetting someone.
Yeah he's great in the clutch but he does start games slow sometimes like last night for example.

We robbed OKC.

It feels good to win trades after all the terrible moves in the past.

That's Harden, Jackson, and Green. Three great scorers OKC had to let go. Green is pretty solid too.

I wonder what would happen if in the fantasy land I'm dreaming of that Durant comes and starts at PF here in Detroit :o

I didn't think our team would be this good. So far I'm sticking to my prediction: 40-45 wins this season. So far they're playing really well and games like Memphis are up in the air. But all games are give and take. We're 15-12. Compare that with 5-23 last season...WOW

Thanks Zeeb, that's just siiiick :D. It is great to see them closing games this year. It felt like the last few years every damn time it was tight near the end we would fold / find a way to lose.
