Came to this thread to say this. That man can shoot.

J Kidd can't be happy with his PG play... Henson is getting squeezed for minutes. Wouldn't mind his shot blocking and mid range game... possibly for Jennings.

We almost drafted him. I remember Dumars liked him in the 2nd rd that year.

With Lillard and McCollum they probably can't afford to pay all 3 and might look to deal Crabbe before his rookie deal expires. (Unless they see him as a SF). Not sure we have anything they need though.

Just throwing a idea out there.

Ersan is better than Mirotic, isn't he?

At shooting but Mirotic is better at creating his shot I think. I haven't watch a lot of him this year.

And he's younger too so there is room for growth there on a reasonable contract.

I'm surprised Mirotic has been slumping considering the expectations from last season. I didn't notice that the Bulls were quietly imploding/slumping within.

We need guys who can make 3s now though, not later. I don't understand the Mirotic hype anyways. He is basically a lesser version of Ilyasova if you ask me, and we already have the real Ersan.

Markieff was on DNP-CD last games.
Trade incoming? Where will he go? Detroit, Houston, NO, Washington?

For Markieff my bet is Washington or Houston. We can't take him on without moving Ersan our IMO because we don't have the minutes for both with no Ce minutes available. Now if we could move Baynes in the deal - PHX has no use for him of course, but then Markieff could be a PF while backing up Ce for us.

We need to do something to add to our bench without moving a starter - basically Tolliver, Dinwiddie, Baynes, Bullock, Meeks and are all we have to offer - so we'd have to part with a protected first as well to get anything of impact/value back.

Two out of our three only trade chips, Meeks, Ersan and Jennings, are injured. I think it'd take a lot for us to move Ersan because he's a deep threat. I just don't see any big moves coming from trades this season. No Anderson and definitely no Markieff

The expirings of Joel Anthony, Tolliver, Blake plus our 1st rounder is enough for Markieff. Make it top 5 or 10 or lottery protected though ;)

Markieff playing any minutes there is a bad idea. He's not a good defender or rebounder at power forward and wouldn't be helped by moving to center. If Detroit trades for him he would get all of his minutes at the four either as a starter or off the bench depending on if Ilyasova would be moved (and I doubt that).

I think if we had more talent at SF then Marcus would play more minutes at the 4, possibly a lot more.

I'm excited for this deadline because for the past two seasons SVG has been very active with trades. Last year he netted us a star studded PG for Augustin. Last offseason he got us Marcus Morris for a second round pick! AND he got Ilyasova for basically nothing too. Stan is finding gold though trades. I think extensive scouting is what's doing it. I wonder what they'll pull off this deadline or if they'll just stay put. I think a lot of it depends on how Jennings comes back. There's a chance Jennings is in a package for a starting PF or maybe another guard. I don't know but we can at least expect returning someone of equal or greater value.

^Mook and Iyasova were salary dumps by their respective teams - not really Stan and Co finding diamonds in rough or ripping off other team. Reggie for Augustin/Singler was a heist though - but mostly Utah took the hit with Kanter for nothing.

Kevin Martin is available. SVG needs to work some magic and make it happen without giving up anything important, basically how we got Ilyasova and Mook.

I'd love Martin to play here. He's one of those Pistons killers. It's like having Andre Miller on the team. Love that guy. I don't know how he doesn't get big bucks and stay on a competitive team. If we get Martin, we'd have to get rid of Meeks. I don't want them both on the team. I believe Meeks is good but has been snake bitten with random injuries. Injuries suck no matter who it is. I think it's a wait and see approach until the trade deadline. There's no reason to make any trades right now. I love our roster. Even Baynes is playing well.

Detroit has nothing to give up other than expriring deals and teams are not looking for that right now. I think our best (only?) chance at landing a impact rotation player with our riffraff is as the third team in a trade ie Chicago needs to find a third team with expirings to trade to take on Taj Gibson, they get their wing player from Team X and Team X doesn't want Gibson, just expirings so we'd ship them Blake, Tolliver and Bullock sorta deal nearer or at the deadline.
