In response to this month's The Atlantic article on Silicon Valley suicides, Jeremy Lin talks about growing up in the Bay Area and the suicides of his friends and classmates.

I'll give that article and this response a read. It is a legitimately scary and sadly very frequent thing I see in the Bay Area. Not to get too personal, but when I moved to SF I picked up the lease for someone that was leaving. We'd hear from her sporadically then one night she wanted to hang out - everyone was busy so we rain checked (I'd never even met her so I declined). Found out 3 months later she committed suicide.
About a half year later, my roommate at the time was gonna sublet his room for a few months, a day before that subletter moved in - she committed suicide as well.
I didn't know either of these girls at all so it didn't affect me as much as it would one of their friends, but it is terrifying to know that someone in the prime of their life (both were 25-27 years old) can end it all. Especially because of the absurd frequency in our small household (4 bedroom house).
Cherish your life gents and the friendships/family you have - you never know when you'll have to say goodbye.
It's a terrible thing for people to be so depressed they can take their own life. I have had a couple of cousins kill themselves and an ex wife and a gf who tried. It sure hurts those they leave behind for years and in some cases forever.
Life is a very fragile thing.

8th in scoring overall, 5th in pace. 7th in 3pt rate but 23rd in 3pt%. Stevens has turned them around and is pointing them in the right direction. We should take them on Friday though.

Hope they just try to run with the Warriors, like Indy tried to do.

Just watching the NY v Kings game. 2 things.
1. - Melo is a shadow of his former self. Regression has well and truly started.
2. Casspi is quite good. I like him a lot as a scoring forward. Good in transition and makes smart decisions.

Interesting from Bradley (love the confidence) but yes the Warriors can absolutely outscore anyone. Despite the improvements to on both sides of the court the offense to is buoyed by the defence and it's ability to force TO's. GSW is the ultimate measuring stick currently so I'm looking forward to this game.

Re: Around the NBA III
I hate how stupid ESPN is:
Golden State continues its road trip Friday in Boston as it tries to improve to 24-0. The Celtics rank 4th in defensive efficiency this season. Its only the second time this season that the Warriors will face a team currently ranked in the top 5 in defensive efficiency.
--
That last line lmao. Hmmm, wonder why team's GS has played aren't in the top 5 in defensive efficiency? Could it be because facing the Warriors wrecks your stats when the sample size is only ~20 games?? If GS has a typical GS night on offense tonight Boston probably won't be top 5 after this game either lmao

The amount of calls Harden is getting in this Kings game is disgusting.

Rumor has it that Houston is looking to move Howard and Howard wants to go to MIami.

That'd be a nice move by Miami and gives Dwight what he wants - a cosmopolitan city where he would get a ton of offensive touches. I think that actually makes them a better team too and would kick off a fearsome defense-first frontcourt with Hassan Upside and Dwight Coward.

The Howard circus continues, as he denies being unhappy and wanting out of Houston. Imagine had the Warriors gutted the team for him, where we would be now?

Watching TNT right now... is this Las Vegas Summer League game? Shame on NBA putting a Summer League team on Prime Time.

I'm watching the Lakers v Rockets game, and 2 things stand out.
1 - Kobe is old. He looks so slow and old it is embarrassing.
2 - James Harden is a disgusting basketball player to watch. It hurts my eyes watching his head flailing and bulldozing tactics. Not even Corey Maggette was this bad.

Oh and a 3rd thing, I really like Jordan Clarkson. He'd be a nice 3rd guard for us. Take over the Barbosa role nicely.

Barbosa is still shooting over 40% for 3. He's a career 39% shooter.
His overall FG percentage is slightly down because he hasn't been getting as many lay ups.
He's a great value, unless they find a rookie who can shoot and drive as well.

I honestly think ian Clark can fill that role just fine if you give him the year to develop and he gets an added shot of confidence. Barbosa has about a year left in those legs, but I'd take him over any other option all day for as long as he can play. Great chemistry guy who brings a unique knack for scoring--and an added emphasis on defense lately--to the court.

Re: Around the NBA III
We'll see. But honestly don't see Ian Clark's ceiling as being anything special whereas Barbosa in his prime was very good. Think he won or contended for 6th man of the year in his career.
He spaces okay for good 3-point looks but his overall FG is pretty low. But the thing is, he's only averaging about 7 minutes so he hasn't seem to given he coaches reason to play him more.
