Based on what? His age? Have you even seen him play? He's far and away the best player in the country right now. With a skillset loaded with translatable characteristics.

Are you waiting for the hive mind draft sites to catch up and move him up their boards before you commit to liking him?

The hive mind draft sites have a better track record then randoms who throw out 10 names a year and hit on 1 or maybe 2 if lucky.

Skal hasn't impressed me all year and today is no different. How in the world was this guy the top recruit in the nation by some sites and rated a better player than Simmons? If no one knew Skal was the top player coming into college this year I bet no one would be force feeding this guy as a top 5 pick.

Based on skill. Simmons, Ingram, Skal, Dragan, Dunn, Murray, Jackson, Brown, Poeltl, Rabb, Korkmaz all have more potential than Valentine imo. I'm not saying Valentine isn't the best player in the country. I think Valentine will be one of the safer picks of the draft, but he has no where near the end potential of those guys I mentioned.

I'd love for the Sixers to get him, but definitely not with a top 5 pick.

I've watched a couple Kentucky games wanting to come away impressed with Skal or Murray, just hasn't happened yet.

I still see so much potential with Ingram, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we came away with him in the draft.

Still early in the season, and I haven't gotten a chance to watch Brown or Dunn yet.

Would you guys rather come away with Simmons at pick number 1, or Ingram and Dunn at picks 2 and 4 respectively?

Edit: Of course as I say this, Murray is providing a nice spark for Kentucky.

I would love Tyler Ulyss with one of our second round picks. I think he can be a very good backup PG I this league. If he were 4 inches taller he would be a top 5 pick. I don't see why he can't be a good contributor on an NBA team.

I think Marcus Lee is the best NBA player on that Kentucky team. He reminds me a little of Terrence Jones.

Nah. I still think Murray and Ulyss have better careers. I'm not wowed by Murray although he did impress me with his 3 pointers today. I think Murray has more potential. Even though Murray hasn't really made me really want the Sixers to draft I think he can be a solid starter from what I have seen so far. Lee seems like he will be a journeyman bench player to me.

but how doe. Jah at least has the "i'm secretly fat" excuse..Skal is supposed to be this athletic wonder and ****...

Like I get that he's weak and such right now so I'm not saying he should be Prime Rodman but I think my scrubby ass could get at least 8 boards if I was 7ft tall.

I need to know how the scouts missed this hard..wooo

At least Marcus Lee projects as an effective player. He actually brings a few skills to the table like rebounding and shotblocking to go along with his scoring in the paint and finishing at the rim.

Murray looks like a Harrison bro and Tyler Ulis is severely undersized without the standout distributing and scoring skills to transcend his stature (like Boston Isaiah has).

None of these Kentucky dudes look like starters at the next level. Marcus Lee looks like the best of the crapheap right now, though.

Maybe. As far as comparing Murray to the Harrison brothers I can see that comparison somewhat but I'm more impressed with Murray as a freshman than the Harrison twins. Murray looks like he is a better outside shooter than both of them as freshmen. While Murray doesn't do anything exceptionally well I can see him being a starter in the NBA. Murray seems like one of these men of many talents but a master of none type player. He can play point but it doesn't seem exceptionally well. He can drive but not exceptionally well. He can shoot but not exceptionally well although I think he might be able to become a reliable outside shooter.

Poeltl was really impressive today. And I like the way his name is pronounced. Yah-kob Perdel if I got that correctly.

Ew, no. At least Terrence Jones had a face up game and could shoot. Marcus Lee is a shot blocker and should just be an energy guy off the bench. He is arguably the worst offensive player I've seen during the Calipari era and that includes our beloved Noel.

I guess I can use this post to defend/criticism my Cats in relation to how you guys see them.

Skal is not ready for the NBA. He'll leave regardless, but unless he starts to dominate, he needs another year to fill out and to stop being a coward. When he has the ball in his hands, there is zero confidence. I cri everytim when Lee and Skal are our front court. Complete pussies.

Poythress has all the ability in the world, but always falls so short. He can jump out of the building and has the length to finish over defenders, but gets blocked so frequently. He has a great looking shot, and even drained a three today, but is terribly unreliable as a shooter. He fights for the rebound, but always gets it yanked away. I want him to succeed so badly, but he gets in his own way.

Murray had a few mediocre games, but was a superstar today. I think if we had a KAT or Cousins this year, he would be putting up obnoxious numbers. Since he and Ulis are essentially the offense, he has to create for himself (which he has been doing quite well). He's the best player on this team, by far, and he will be the best pro, by far.

I'm hoping to see some of Tai Wynyard and/or Isaac Humphries over the next few games. Maybe they can provide some toughness/rebounding down low.

Yeah, Poeltl was pretty popular in last year's draft thread, too. He caught our eye when we tuned in to check out Delon Wright. He got even better. Now he's scoring and growing as a passer? I'm seeing a high level starting C right now.

As long as the sixers get a combo of Simmons or ingram and Murray or Brown we are in great shape . This draft should solidify our wing spots for the future.
