Clips Down by 21 After 1st Quarter: 38-17
The Rockets lead by more points than the Clippers have scored. Looks like another empty-effort game.

makes me sad that when we play the 2nd game of b2b's this kind of stuff happens, whereas other teams give what feels like 3 times more effort.

Re: Game 28: Los Angeles (16-11) @ Houston (13-14)
man we need rebounding. our roster is not built like the Doc's championship Celts where Kendrick/KG/Pierce/Ray Allen/Rondo/big Baby/Tony Allen/James Posey/Sam I am were. they were all good defensive players and veterans aside from Rondo, sprinkled with veteran offensive players like Eddie House, and PJ Brown. we are severely tilted towards offense and away from defensive players aside from Luc and DJ, and DJ is a suspect on the ball defender to me. we can't run the same system with such different group of players, we need to be more scrappy and run after every rebound, like the little talented but maximum effort giving Raptors.
ehhhhh f it.

I'm sorry to sound like MartintoVaught but that is the headcoach's fault.

this team just hates lance. 3 fouls and the coaches tell him to foul and get his 4th. wtf.

the big problem is that doc is OBSESSED with a 2nd unit small ball lineup. but the biggest weakness of a small ball lineup is a susceptibility to getting blitzed on rebounds and on defense. it's still a net positive if you outscore the other team but...
paul pierce and crawford as a combo have been dreadful together. josh smith looks out of place at C. austin is just awful on offense. that bench is not only not outscoring anyone, but they definitely aren't defending or rebounding either. right now the team simply doesn't have the guys who fit doc's make-believe schemes.

I'm glad I'm not watching this game. We came out and weren't ready, maybe the Rockets will let us back in.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

the way I see it, the second unit should buy time for the high scoring starters. that means to slow the **** down as much as we can to limit the actual offensive possessions against the opposition and that would obviously mean playing a half court and work the shot clock. we have Cole to play center. we have Josh to play Griffin's back up. as of now Wes is our SF. have Austin be our poor man's Sefolosha and Lance be the backup PG, and suddenly we have a second unit that can play a half court game.
for that to happen, I see it is inevitable to trade Jamal outta here. if Lance must be coupled in that trade, we better be getting a serviceable PG who is better team orientied than Pablo. I had a high hope for Pablo and we got a poor-poor man's version of Jamal who jacks up bad shots one after another.
ehhhhh f it.

i think that's one way to do it. the other big problem is that doc hasn't placed an emphasis on defense since he got here. maybe another bad playoff exit might change his mind but i doubt it.

or possibly his defensive reputation was all due to KG and the vets of that team and Tom Thib's credit.

i really wish we could give paul pierce the leg transplant of some jumpy 22 year old college player.
but the reality is that pierce has been very poor on the mental side of defense all season. he's really gotta figure something out.
