Jimmy is probably mad that Hoiberg isn't half the coach Thibodeau is.

That's true, and that's true. Jimmy also knows the world will need another Charles Barkley on TNT some day, but a kinder, gentler Charles Barkley.

I mean the little bit of good we still see in this team is the defensive philosophy, instilled by thibs. Specifically the team defense.

The specialty of offense that hoiberg was supposed to bring, we have not seen it executed and we are 25 games in. I refuse to believe that hoiberg is such a offensive guru that college kids from iowa can figure out his system but nba professionals cant?

Season just getting started.

The "grass is greener" angle might be correct if they didn't play the same exact way under Thibodeau last season. Also, let's not forget the report that three starters from last season pushed management to get rid of Thibodeau.

This team (the exact same team from last year except for one rookie) is playing exactly the same way as last year. Passionless.

Whether you a Thibs guy or a Hoiberg guy, it's pretty plain and simple. It's the players. Not the coaching.

Two coaching styles worlds apart, and the team looks the exact same.

As the ESPN football guys say, Cmonnnnn mannnn

Not for this roster.

Which infers that the FO is not planning on keeping this roster together going forward.

:nonono: I thought I already covered this.

And if I'm not mistaken, Jimmy was one of the 3 that was sick of Thibs.

Butler is such a moron. You just had a coach that pushed you guys and half the roster pushed Thibs to the unemployment line. He was one of them. Maybe you're the problem and not the coach.

Now if we put aside the effect this statement may have on the locker room, the message in itself is that players don't play hard enough. I see a Cowley piece in the near future saying this story shows how Butler and Rose hate each other and that this statement targeted Rose indirectly

Butler was chummy with Thibs over the summer for the Team USA practice. Doubt he was in favor of getting rid of Thibs.

He's probably pining for a real coach over this gimmick of having relaxed mild-mannered coaches cranking up the pace.

The 3 biggest offensive hubs on the team are Rose, Gasol, and Butler.

Butler is doing his job.

Rose is historically awful right now. This is not Fred's fault.

Gasol's efficiency has fallen off as we are no longer feeding him in the post. This is tactical. You can blame Fred for this if you want.

It's correct, because they did play the exact same way under thibs last season. Yet somehow thought getting a new coach would change thier effort, and make a flawed roster suddenly look flawless.

Fred isn't getting through to the players on offense. We can all see it. And while I'm inclined to chalk it up to this flawed roster, it's possible, just possible, that Fred isn't good at holding NBA players accountable. If that's the case, maybe a public butt kicking is what the doctor ordered. Coaches trash players to the media, sometimes to great effect. But we're not OK with Jimmy doing it because Fred's an authority figure? Consider the possibility that he isn't, which is Jimmy's point.

If I was Fred Hoiberg I'd be like time for ladders! Go! All practice straight ladders.

Nowhere close to it this year except for the big games and their move to further mediocrity is only going to make it worse.

What exactly is the job jimmy doing? Because it seems to me out of the 3 you named rose has been the 1 moving the ball while jimmy and pau have become ball stoppers. Unless your telling me hoiberg offense is give the ball to rose jimmy and pau and get out the way?

Sounds more like he is calling out the team needing to be in check which automatically puts the coach on the spot

He's scoring an efficient 20 a game.

Rose is an absolute disaster, yet has the highest USG% among the starters.

I'm not clear on what Hoiball is yet. It could be to get up the court and get into a shot quickly in the clock if it is right there. Move the ball if you can't get your shot off. Stopping might be ok if the shot goes up :dontknow:
