I wonder who's getting fired or traded on Christmas this year! Wouldn't be a Chicago Bulls Christmas without one!

So Jimmy has this supreme work ethic but needs his coach to "coach him hard", I would think if he was as motivated as he said he was then he wouldn't need Fred or anybody breathing down his neck.

Butler: Definitely. The frustrating moments last year was kinda like, Thibs just being a hard-nosed guy. He's gonna yell, he's gonna say some curse words, he's going to let you know. With right here, [Hoiberg] is going to be like, "Hey, guys, you gotta do this, you gotta do that," and then that's the end of it.

It's two totally different coaching styles. Some works for some guys, some works for others. Some guys on this roster can't take getting yelled at, some guys on this roster getting yelled at gets them going, you know what I mean? And there's nothing wrong with that. But at the end of the day, we as players know what we are capable of and what we have to do. We're all grown men, and we've been playing this game for so long a coach shouldn't have to tell us, "Hey, this is what you have to do to win this game."

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14319127/jimmy-butler-chicago-bulls-start

Jimmy Saturday night

"I believe in the guys in this locker room, yeah," Butler said. "But I also believe that we probably have to be coached a lot harder at times. I'm sorry, I know Fred's a laid-back guy, and I really respect him for that, but when guys aren't doing what they're supposed to do, you got to get on guys, myself included. You got to do what you're supposed to do when you're out there playing basketball."

He's already said these things and he's dying on this hill. To be honest, I'll say this about any player and what he says in the media: it does not bother me when he says things to the media when he says it when they're not around. However, if a player starts using the media to get a message out that he doesn't share in private, then you have a huge issue.

Except for the fact that the first set of quotes are just describing Hoibergs coaching style compared to Thibs, while these recent quotes are actually criticizing Hoibergs coaching style by throwing him under the bus.

Big difference.

Oh and my 2 cents is Jimmy pissed at Niko. He had no injuries and refused to work on his body or game.

It was Friedell. I saw it and posted about it. It wasn't just Friedell.. Will Perdue has made several comments that "he's not sure about all this great atmosphere stuff"... he said something like "but do these guys really like each other?....I'm not so sure".. and that they had to want to play for each other... and I have no idea which players he was referring to... that was not on the same telecast but in the last week.

Well, Re. I guess we kinda know what Friedell and Will Perdue were talking about now..

I mean, Will Perdue has flat out come out and said that "he isn't so sure that "these guys" (certain factions of the team) even like each other"... now we have several things... Jimmy not present at the team activities in Napa... the whispers about the atmosphere in the clubhouse not being as "chummy" as we were told it was (by the people closest to the team)... oh, and Jimmy warms up by himslef now? and Noah had to talk to him about these things? wow. now this.

....has instead led to Butler going to Hoiberg early this season and talking about the need for more touches in the mid-post and on isolations, sources said. When Hoiberg recently confirmed Doug McDermott's assertion that the Bulls started running sets that worked last year, calling plays for Butler was one of the changes.

Some concerning developments.

After catching up on the thread, we need to just stop trying to make assumptions. The only thing we can conclude at this stage is that Jimmy, even if his frustrations are warranted, is completely out of line.

Also, not sure if these later tweets had been posted yet -

Shocking that Butler would like plays called for him that actually align with his abilities. We've already heard Gasol complain about his role too, and Rose question the playcalling. Maybe it would have been a better idea to put in a system that fits your 3 most important players? I know, crazy thought.

Wow@KC article...I really hope that meeting with Fred and Jimmy went good or else the team is really having a meltdown
Image

And it is still messed up Jimmy doesn't want to man up in addressing Rose or whoever directly if he really has issues with them. He is holding in is true emotions and disrupting things because of it. Things are having a domino effect. The offense dropped to one of the lowest in the league while the team overall isn't productive enough. All this can be related to the team being divided psychologically. Seems things were about to turn around with the 4 game winning streak then splat.

just sayin.... the whole thing stinks. The fact that all three have spoken up about the way they are being used is a problem that needs to be addressed.... and apparently, it seems, Hoiberg tried to accommodate at least two of them by going back to some of last years plays (see Doug's comments). We are seeing more elements of last years defensive schemes being implemented as well.

Agreed. I think Noah is also the guy that would nip stuff in the bud, but I think the team needs another voice to help.

Rose has said a lot of stupid **** but he's never came off as a cancer.

Jimmy needs to cool it. Cause who tf does he think he is? Hopefully Hoiberg benches him for a game.

I do agree that the FO retaliation with the writers or media leaks can only snowball the situation even if the FO was not the cause of the problem

I also think this needs to be reiterated. As much as people talk about Cowley pieces being aimed at the FO, we have to keep in mind that KC is very much a mouthpiece for the organization and weigh the piece accordingly. This is another in a long line of coaches and/or players that this regime has trouble communicating with and we wind up with this "let's air out our laundry through the media instead of like men, face to face" I just hate this crap.

Wait, wait. Since when is the FO anti-Jimmy? They just gave the man a five-year, max contract.

The FO isn't anti Jimmy.... but Jimmy just came out and took at shot at their recent coaching hire... that has to be quelled.

I don't know. The FO just unloaded on Jimmy with both barrels of Rhino killer.

yeah they did... no question.

Jimmy must be really careful. He's playing a very dangerous game right now.

He might see himself getting promoted for this.
Yeah, well you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
