Not to mention he was kind of left on a island for half those times Rose scored on him and he was screened off on the other half. Sure, he can and should be better defensively but it's tough for most players to guard quick offensive PG's one on one with no help.

I kinda disagree it was Dre that was being left on a island cause he had to help off of Gasol cause Reggie was getting blew right by. It left gasol open a bunch of times.

I think that was largely due to P&R, which every player, even good defenders can't do much about. I've seen teams put KCP in P&Rs too and yeah, he can fight over screens better and do a better job overall but ultimately the perimeter player is going to get by forcing the big man (Dre) to help out. Like I said, I agree Jackson should be better defensively given his physical characteristics but I can't blame him too much when he gets screened off or has to guard Rose one on one whenever they don't put him in a P&R. Also, as others have mentioned, Jackson pretty much dominates the ball on offense and is driving nearly every play. That type of energy expenditure has to make it much more difficult for him to keep up defensively. Lastly, Rose was on a hot streak too. His floater was money from the second half and on. Not a great combination for a good defensive outing for Jackson.

Oh yeah I give Reggie a pass but like you said he could be better, at times it looks like he is 70y/o on defense then on the other end look lightning quick. That really puts pressure on Dre who is a improved defender but not a world class one.
