Portland at Atlanta

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Mon Dec 21, 2015 6:06 pm

Our beloved Hawks are favored to win tonight by 7 points.
With it being a back to back, I expect things to be close, and I look forward to us winning.

Happy Holidays to all of you.

The Trail Blazers' starting backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum has been ruled out of Monday's game in Atlanta because of injuries suffered in Sunday's loss at Miami, the team announced.

Lillard, who has never missed an NBA game in his three-plus seasons, will be sidelined because of plantar fasciitis in his left heel.

McCollum, the team's second leading scorer, will sit because of what the team is calling bilateral ankle sprains.
Here

Sounds like we may not even need to play our starters big minutes...

Rest Teague, Korver and Millsap if you ask me.

Tiago, Patterson and Dennis could use the extended PT.

I can't believe how deep the East is this season. At 17-12, we are only 1 game ahead of the current 9th seed(Orlando). Fortunately, we have entered a favorable part of our schedule and should get some breathing room.

With Portland being shorthanded we better win.

SMH @ the halftime show.

Nets won at Chicago, and the Rockets beat the Hornets. Up to 4th in the East...nice.

Nice win over a short handed Blazers team. Good to see us dominate a game that we should have dominated. I feel like the only reason they managed to get back in it late was because we let off the gas pedal a bit.

^ Indiana also lost, so that puts us at 3rd in the East (tied for second). Crazy how before the Orlando match we were 9th. Big game coming up against the Pistons.

Yeah, just caught the "highlights" of that halftime show in Sportscenter. Yikes!

...I'm either getting really old, or Hawks are really just pandering to the worst tastes of millennials. But That was just AWFUL.

BAD STeve Koonin.

If Koonin could get Taylor Swift to perform he would but for now he has to settle for local talent which stays in line with the whole "True to Atlanta" vibe. Does that say more about what the city of Atlanta is producing or Koonin himself though? Anyway, CeeLo performs this weekend whereas C-Viv is predicting that the Hawks will very likely start next season on the road because Adele has Philips booked.

Rich Homie Quan and Silento were terrible half time performances. Idk what Koonin was thinking.

Lillard wasn't their, (Matthews and LMA are already gone) so nothing worth talking about from this win. I just wish it was more of a blow out and the started only got 20-25 minutes and the team could have got some significant playing time for Holiday, Muscala, and Patterson.

Agreed.

It would have been a nice opportunity for even THJ to get some burn in a lopsided affair.

That deal is becoming more perplexing by the day.

He's definitely getting the John Jenkins treatment at this point.

Well the starters had to come back in anyway.

It does make me peeved we'll get some blowouts and we have Edy And Hardaway inactive.

Trail Blazers-Hawks Report Card from myajc:

  • The Hawks have averaged 111.3 points during their four-game win streak.
  • The Hawks are 14-1 when scoring over 100 points.
  • Tiago Splitter led the Hawks with a plus-19 rating. Every Trail Blazer that played more than a minute had a negative rating.

Report card

Offense: B-plus

The Hawks were solid as they broke the 100-point mark with six double-digit scorers. The 10 turnovers was a plus. They had two 29-point quarters. They were aggressive in getting to the free-throw line 28 times

Defense: B

The Hawks were generally good defensively, although they let the injury-depleted Trail Blazers hang around in the first half before a late second-quarter run. The sour note was allowing a 39-point fourth quarter in a game they led by as many as 21 points.
