I don't mind him except I cringe when he uses the phrase, "Keeps on keeping on" every game.

I hate his **** guts. Sounds like Gus Johnson's (Please Use More Appropriate Word) little brother.

Lol, don't know if you guys ever listen to Gus doing MMA fights but he's pretty bad there with his monotone voice. The funniest was when a brawl erupted after a fight involving this clown fighter Mayhem Miller in Strikeforce, Gus said, "These things happen in MMA", yeah like you followed the sport before, it rarely happens. Back to Collins, I thought he was a white guy until a few days ago lol.

This is a fun list. Last night he called the floor "the pine". That's not too out there as a lot of people use that term.

I saw that fight. Yeah, Gus really sounds out of his element anywhere but a college basketball game. When he started doing English Premier League matches and screamed about Alex Ferguson (maybe it was Alan Pardew) "leaving the dugout!" (he just left his seat and walked into his manager's area) I actually had to take to the keyboard and complain to Fox Sports. You can't do that to the beautiful game.

Stephanie also had this quotable yesterday - "Harden does not want the pressure of Jeremy Lin in him."

My girlfriend heard that as well and made comment.

I reminded her about Asians and the stereotype associated to them and because of this there would likely be "no pressure" felt.

;)

Stephanie also made a comment about Harden doesnt play good defense, which I found hilarious since she voted for him for all-defensive team two years ago. I still want an explanation for that vote.

Collins called questionable (dubious) fouls "doobies" yesterday.

Did I not hear right or did he say on a play where I believe Harden fell and lost the ball and referred to it as Harden fell down "unmolested"???

I still can't tell if I hate him so much that I like him, or if I just hate him. I tune him out too often to be able to tell if my hatred has really come around full circle.

He definitely said that. I remember thinking how that word has changed its meaning through the years. You'll frequently see it in 19th or early 20th century British literature with the meaning of "interfere with". Hell, even 80s guard Lester Conner was nicknamed "Molester" due to being a great defensive player. But it does sound odd when used in such a manner nowadays.

are you sure that he calls the floor - "the pine"? I think he used the phrase "came off the pine" in the Toronto game as in reference to someone coming off the bench.

could have sworn I've heard him say "Bee-Fense" two times over the past few games. I know someone on twitter was asking Steph to start using "Bee-Fense" and she said she'd try to work it in.

definitely said last night that "Jeremy Lamb has 18 off the pine". So "the pine" is the bench.

the home team - the locals;
any 13-point advantage - a baker's dozen;
a dunk is - a chin-up;
a lay-up on which one twists in the air (?) is a - dipsy-doo
someone continuing a particular streak is to - keep on keeping on
the bench - the pine
a high-arching three-pointer - moonball
perseverance - stick-to-itiviness

Loved the Keith Jennings and Chris Gatling (made a 9-minute mix of him once upon a time, he's in my avatar) references for the second straight game in a row.

I will need to listen for this more closely.

Anybody catch when they were cutting to a commercial I think in the 3rd quarter and they showed a time lapse video of a street near the arena, and on the way out Eric yelled "Wow they drive so fast around here! Look at that!" Then there was about four or five seconds of dead air before they cut.

Was beautifully awkward.
