Good game guys. The Hawks are enjoyable to watch.

Game Notes:

  • * During the Hawks’ five-game win streak they are averaging 110.4 points and shooting 50.7 percent.
  • * The Hawks bench outscored the Pistons bench 34-17 with Dennis Schroder (14), Tiago Splitter (11) and Mike Scott (nine).
  • Jeff Teague tied his season-high with six rebounds including a career-high four offensive boards.

Report card

Offense: A-minus

The Hawks were very good in the first half, scoring 61 points. They shot 48 percent from the field. Teague was excellent with 23 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals. The bench, those not inserted just to foul Drummond, again did solid work.

Defense: B

The Hawks did solid defense work for three quarters. However, they made a game in which they led by 22 points closer than it needed to be by allowing 33 fourth-quarter points. Drummond had 12 points and six rebounds in the fourth quarter after he was contained much of the night.

ATL Boy wrote:East is so wide open right now, we went from tied for second to eighth with that one loss to OKC (still 1.5 games back of first). Following the Spurs game, I expect us to rack up wins with our next 7 (MIA, PHI, @BOS, @ORL, POR, DET, NYK). Go 5-2 or 6-1 in that stretch (we really should, against those teams) and we'll be second or maybe even first.

From the other thread.

So far so good, in this stretch. We're 5-1 with just the Knicks standing between us and a great run of 6-1. We've gone from 10th place in the east following the loss to Miami, to now second.

You'll never come out of the east with horford as your center. At least when saa was doing hack a dj, it was in the 3rd qt to prevent alleys. Atl was down 6 in the 1st and couldn't get a rebound to save their life. Yall could have that win but i wouldn't want to win like that. What Yall did yesterday in no way shape or form gets yall ready for Cleveland

Crying on the Atlanta Hawks forum will change the way the Hawks play the Pistons in future matchups. I've already called coach Bud and he said he will never intentionally foul Drummond again thanks to your tears on an internet forum. If it wasn't for your posts, this never would have happened. Great job.

Y'all can have all the morale victories you want, I'd much rather take actual wins, even if it's by way of hacking. Sorry that your superstar Center doesn't know how to shoot free throws, and that your team is lost when he isn't on the floor. At least when Jordan was taken out of the game due to hacking against the Spurs, the Clippers still had Paul and Griffin to lead them, Detroit is screwed when Drummond has to be taken out.

Hacking is apart of the game. In baseball you take the walk and go to first. There is no crying in basketball!

In sports, they do rule changes when somebody is too good at something, like what George Mikan did and what Wilt Chamberline did. Nobody makes rules because somebody is so bad at something that they change the rule to help them out

While I don't completely agree with the statement, the sentiment has merit.

We've struggled with imposing big men in the past. Notably against Lopez, Mozgov and Tristan in last season's playoffs. We've attempted to address this by adding Splitter, plus we have a young 7'3" prospect in our farm system.

We'll see if the adjustments made thus far are enough to counteract what has long been an achilles heel for the Hawks.

With that said, Drummond's got to improve in the FT department. It's a huuuuge hole in his game that will continue to be exploited moving forward.

Pistons fan saying we wont make it out the East. K.

But we were all the way down by 6 points in the first quarter so clearly the only recourse we had was hacking drummond. Especially how their guards were locking down our guards.

Very good win last night.
After the game outside of the arena there was Jazz music playing as if we're New Orleans.
Big win and many smiling faces.
