Will Vuc be an allstar this year?

Post#1 » by King- » Thu Dec 24, 2015 5:43 pm

Does anyone think Vucevic will be an all-star this year? How many more centers on winning teams are playing better then him right now in the east?

He has to compete with forwards and centers as they're grouped together. So guys like lebron, love, george, millsap, horford, bosh, whiteside, gasol, drummond. Anyone else? I think there are usually 6-7 frontcourt players. Injuries happen, too.

He will need to start racking up counting stats. He got a very late start this season. I think it's too late.

Atlanta would also need to collapse to take Horford and Millsap out of consideration.

If were winning at the same peace by the time feb rolls around he is in, Im shock at all the no's. Fisher has now join doc rivers in calling Nik an all star center post game interview. I'm 100 percent they not the only 2 coaches

Unless he goes on a huge scoring streak until they choose the reserves, the only way I see him on the team is as an injury replacement.

Given what we know about these two goofballs, maybe that's a bad thing.

All of our guys will have to get in Via coach decision until we start making noise in the playoffs and get more national exposure.

Guys like Melo, George, Bosh, Wade will be locks as starters regardless of anything else until they sharply decline or retire.

The East is incredibly tight this year, which I hate and also love, but just look at what people on the GB think of our team. Those are higher level than casual NBA fans, and even they are deeply offended at the thought that we're more than a treadmill team, 5th in the East, 4 years into a ground up rebuild with only one offer so far to a coveted FA. Imagine that.

Anyway, I think he deserves it. We're playing good ball. EP also deserves it in my opinion. I'd like to see AG get some love with the other events because he's such an exciting player to watch.

he is averaging 23 points, 9 rebounds, 2,5 assists and a block in the last 4 games. if he can get his season averages to this awesome numbers it's possible.

Should he be: Yes
Will he be: No

He's not a highlight reel, he plays in a small market, and he doesn't hold the name-recognition that other guys do. But he's carrying an offense, sporting a career-high PER at 22.5 (better than Love, Gasol, Bosh, Horford), and the MVP of the 5th best team in the East. I've seen this story too many times though. He'll be forgotten about because coaches are all too often lazy with their selections.

If he continues his upward trend, and we keep winning, he will get in. Coaches tend to value winning more than stats, so that definitely helps. I think either vuc or Payton will end up making it for us. Also, Payton will be in the rookie game with AG as a possibility. Don't think Mario gets in. I think frye ends up in th 3 point shootout, and AG or victor in the dunk contest.

Edit: though if they do the rookie game last year, Mario should be playing for the international team
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

I agree that Nik should be an All Star but likely won't be due to that front court rule. You have at least 4 guys that are locks in Lebron, George, Carmello and Andre Drummond. Let's not forget Horford and Milsap with Atlanta, Pau Gasol with the Bulls. Now if centers were a legit category for votes, only Drummond has been better in the East.

Mario is a shoo in for the rookie game because it is now a usa vs world game.

If coaches look at our record and decide we deserve a representative they'd probably pick him, but Payton has been just as deserving if not more so. Of course Payton won't get in because he just doesn't get that recognition yet and his stats (although on the rise) aren't gaudy. If Tobias keeps up his fine play on both ends of late, he could make a case too. Really we're not a team that is relying on any one "star".

Many coaches know that Vooch got robbed last season. They won't forget that if the Magic keep playing like this.

Plus, Nik has been having a great December. If he stays healthy, those numbers will keep rising.

A few 30 point games in wins against good teams would help.

I think Vucevic gets voted in by the coaches.

It's the fans, but still. This is atrocious. Coaches won't be this bad, but I hope they put more thought into it than name-recognition.
