What about Terrence Jones?

Post#1 » by cubsflan24 » Sat Dec 26, 2015 6:53 am

I have seen rumors about the Pacers maybe wanting to improve at PF and have looked at Ryan Anderson but I'm not that big of a fan of him since all he can do is shoot, always injured, and he's getting old. Then I saw the Rockets might be shopping Terrence Jones, so what does everyone think about Pacers maybe trading for him? I think he would fit very nicely on this team and his age would fit nicely as well. I dont think it would take a ton to get him, but just think his game would fit with this team. He's been pretty good NBA player as well when given the playing time like he got alot of the time last year.

Jones has some history of being a bad boy not sure the pacers take a chance on him. Anderson's shooting ability makes him attractive to most teams, he's not entirely one dimensional as the back up PF he's getting 6.5 rbs per game and he is only 27 currently. I don't know if we'd give NO enough to get him, maybe Bud, Solo and 2nds or a conditional #1.

From a Rockets fan buddy.
"Jones is super athletic, and can play when he's thinking. He's too easily removed from the game mentally though, and has trouble staying focused. All the ability, but doesn't seem to have either the brain or maturity to put it together."
Probably not what the Pacers want at this point...

I agree too a point and with someone describing him like that, It reminds me a bit of Lance Stephenson. Maybe he could fit on this team some, like Stephenson did for most part. Now I wouldnt pay a ton to get Jones, but if the Rockets are just looking to get him out of town, it maybe be smart to trade for him and take a slight gamble on him.

Turner has returned to practice. Maybe we'll do something closer to the trading deadline but for now I think we don't want another 4 to get in the way of Turner's development.

I can't imagine he'd be targeted with his legal past and his disappointing performance thus far. He could be a consideration in the future, but probably not until he's faced a free agency and had disappointing offers. He needs a "make good contract" like Jordan Hill has.

I've always liked Jones, but I wouldn't trade for him at this point. He has negatives that have been pointed out, but his positives (age, stretch 4 ability, potential, etc.) will get him overpaid this offseason with all the cash floating around. I wouldn't want to be in the position of having to match an absurd offer or let him walk.

Henson just got $11 mil on his extension and he has been just as inconsistent so I wouldn't be shocked to see someone go close to $15 mil for Jones, which is far too much right now and could easily be a horrible contract quickly.
