Basketball is a team sport. A win is always good for everyone in the team.

overall decent game by lin, was mega clutch for team at the end, got some awesome rebounds and even hit all his free throws lol Crazy considering he is pretty sloppy with free throws, ie 50% some nights.

Lin had a lot of defections to teammates to retain possession. Very active hands on D, love the steal on the pass to Randolph in the paint. I didn't see the block though.

His handles and shooting are holding him back from being a really good player. Until he improves those on a consistent basis, he'll be what he is which is a good backup pg. I didn't think he was clutch in this game either, he came up clutch when the deal was sealed by Kemba. Before that, he coughed the ball up when the game was still in the balance.

I hope not, there aren't many places he could end up that would be better for him. He gets to play a big role here for a coach that trusts him and is obviously actively integrating him into the system. This is also a team that's at least in the race for the playoffs. Kemba has been good this season, dropped off lately, but overall very good. He's a closer, every team has one, or 2. Where are you gonna find a team that would make Lin the 1st option? He's always going to have to deal with a couple of guys over him in the pecking order in terms of offense. That's just the way it is with pretty every single team, unless he wants to play for the sixers. Plus, he's been given the opportunities to take big shots, as have Lamb, Marin, Cody, Kam. You'll be hard pressed to find a better situation for Lin elsewhere, and if you do, I question how far that team goes.
you've mistaken me...i don't care that much if lin is first option, as long as he helps the team wins. The way things are going, it doesn't matter HOW good he plays, as long as kemba is stinking it up and cliff still runs the game through his golden boy, there is no chance at all of getting the win. Bulls would be a decent option imo...they dont have as much shot chuckers and even though lin would backup d.rose, d.rose actually plays decent team ball.
I am not sure if Lin will be backing up Rose if he goes to the Bulls. Rose still cashing in on his MVP from few years ago while play absolutely garbage. I think Bulls is better with Aaron Brooks than Rose at PG. Bulls would probably win a lot more games would out Rose.
Bulls probably want to get rid of him, but would to give out some asset to unload him because of his contract.

Ball handling is Lin's number one weakness. Not the shooting so much. If he practiced he could shoot the short J as well as today's Tony Parker. Rondo and Rubio can't shoot worth a you know what but they have solid ball handling and distribution. Lin's just loose ball handling is just not going to get it done as a main PG. So he's better set as a secondary facilitator. I get so tired of arguing with a lot of fans on Lin forums about this. They really either need to expand their knowledge and look at ALL PGs instead of just Lin or realize they don't know enough about basketball if they are not seeing issues with Lin's ball handling.
I think his forcing and even some bad decisions are due to him not trusting his shot and his ball handling. But if he had better ball handling, he wouldn't get into some of the bad situations he gets himself into or he'd be able to get himself out of them better.

Rondo and Rubio probably bad example because they played with great PnR big. Lin on the other hand has to ISO and dish to wing.
I am in no way saying Lin has great ball handler.

Even with PnR bigs, Lin's handles were shown as still needing work. He still had some issues playing with guys like Ed Davis. Right now, he'd benefit from a solid PnR guy. But he gets better by not having one. The more he can't rely on "crutches", the more he improves his overall game.

yeah,i feel sorry for derick rose and in my opinion the next player that is turning to derick rose is kyrie irving. Mans body is built like a marshmallow. Still, there are alot of options for lin, imo. He could go to cavs next year and give them a boost for there title chances. Spurs wanted lin last season, so did golden state. Well, as long as hornets work out and reach their potential, i don't see a reason why lin won't stick around next season as well.

The Jeremy Lin Thread 2
If you have watched Lin' games since Knicks, Lin's ball handling has never been the problems to his teams successes if he was pg. his playing style is high risk with high reward. His defense skills are much better this year which would further make up the losses from the risks. His on/off key stats is the best (PIE and NetRtg) on the team based on the following NBA.com source, the case should have been closed long time ago.
(His on/off court stats on the defense - DefRtg is just more outstanding)

i would say that his ball protection and handles although need work, its actually improved since the allstar break from in the lakers. Why? Cause he is able to play and control pace of his game now, play slower. It used to be full speed all the time. The whole lakers saga actually forced him to add a dimension to his game.

Although that late bucket didnt count later, it was a total momentuam changer. So in that aspect i would say yea that was. Clutch.

Lin's FG% and 3pt% are 42.5% and 33%.
They are getting better. The chemistry is growing.
Lin's RPM is 18th among PGs (Walker 15th)
Not many teams have 2 top30 RPM players in the same position.
CHA has 2 top30 PG, 2 top30 SG, 3 top30 PF.
It means they are very deep.

Kemba and Lin's TS%(true shooting) are 53.2 and 55 which are better than any Lakers player.

What did you guys think of the Kobe foul on Lin? I thought it could have easily been a flagrant but of course they're not going to call that on Kobe right now and Lin took it in stride.

jlin's D is so much better now then i've ever seen. fun to watch him work on both ends of the court, even if it doesn't show up on the box score.

Kobe really tried to win this won. Kemba provided great fire power and Hornets overall did great defenses ,especially PJ on Kobe and Lin on Lakers guards. Great win.

yeah this is one of the reasons I don't really like having to play against kobe. Even though he's super competitive, his aggressiveness sometimes causes injuries on other players. For example, ricky rubio suffered knee injury 2 years ago by kobe, a few months ago Jonas Valancuinas of raptors broke his hand because of kobe. Lin today got a hard foul from him as well. So many players before have been smashed by kobe. Its not entirely kobes fault either, he started playing in the 90s when the game was much rougher.

That was way out of line, IMO. Easily a flagrant 2.
