Jennings has been a class act as a Piston. I absolutely hated him in MIL for the way he played and his attitude. Boy has he won me over...

Yeah I used to hate the guy but he's been nothing but a good teammate and person here. He seems to really have respect for the Pistons.

Unless his attitude is nothing more than a facade because he is in a contract year (I think attitude played a role in no one wanting him before Dumars traded for him) it's comments like this that make me hopeful that he is ok with resigning with us as our 6th man as long as he gets paid.

I'm willing to give Jennings the benefit of the doubt and consider his congrats from the heart. He has maintained a level of commendable professionalism through the trade (for Reggie), the rehab, the D League stint, and now as Reggie gets the shine. He's growing.

Anywho...this is a great moment for Reggie and it vindicates SVG against all his critics who thought he was a nimrod for signing him to that kind of money. I'm looking forward to more moments like this going forward.

Jennings has been nothing but professional in Detroit. I don't know if it's him maturing, or he was just in a bad situation in Milwaukee, but he's been very professional and a team player while donning the Red, White and Blue. I'm excited to see him playing WITH Jackson and would love to see him as a 6th man off the bench.

R. Jackson/B. Jennings
K. Caldwell-Pope/R. Jackson/S. Johnson
M. Morris/S. Johnson
E. Ilyasova/M. Morris/A. Tolliver
A. Drummond/A. Baynes

That's a really good 9-man rotation and almost exactly what SVG envisioned when he put the team together. All we're missing now is a shooter (Meeks) off the bench.

Reggie doing his damn thing. I've been pretty vocal about his f*ckups early but have to give credit where credit is due. I really hope Jennings will resign here too. The 2nd unit would blossom and in Feb we get Meeks back. I'm excited to see this team with all available firepower!

Reggie is a baller and pretty clearly a (bottom of the) top ten PG right now.

Clearly better: Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Lowry

In the same general area: Wall, Bledsoe, Conley, Teague, Lilliard

I'm sure I'm missing some "maybes", but it's clear there's nothing wrong with his contract and production. His defensive awareness, shot selection and shot itself could still improve, but no one can stay in front of him and he thrives in the clutch.

Westbrook/Curry are the two guys that are flat out significantly better. Any of the rest Reggie can outplay on any given night, though a few are slightly better statistically.

I think Irving and CP3 are no brainers as well.

CP3 I get but not Kyrie. He's another one I'd put in that 2nd tier with Reggie, Wall, Lowry and a handful of other guys. 4th-10th or so are all pretty tightly bunched and you could make a case for any of em. The PG position is ridiculously strong these days, which makes having both Reggie & Jennings a major boon for us. We need to be able to compete at that position and even if you want to see Reggie is 10th on that list we can still feel confident that it's not a position where we're going to get blown out on a nightly basis. He'll be right there with em.

You guys really like Jackson? I watched a lot of pistons lately and i hate his "me first" attitude, keeping the ball from the big guys. Stats look good eye test says nope for me. Surprised to see most Detroit folk seem to like him.

When i watch Drummond i cant help but think of Dwight and how he was miscoached under van Gundy; never got touches, played with selfish, incapable point guards. Dont you guys see similarities?

I like Jackson you can say he is a little selfish but he is really the only guy on the team that can get his own shot consistently. What else is he gonna do pass to Ersan to try and create? Drummond to be totally honest isn't very good in the post and isn't a good passer imo he gets enough touches for his capabilities, right now he has a 25 usg% thats pretty high for a center. Maybe more lobs to him but teams game plan for that so it's harder to get those passes to him.

Drummond just like Dwight are having/had their best years under SVG idk how he is miscoaching them.

Yeah, really not a ton of other good options at the moment. I think we'd all be happy if his assist total went up a bit. I think we're still 30th in the league in APG, which is not a good sign. But KCP needs to be more consistent, Stanley needs to develop and we need an actual bench. Dre also needs to get more comfortable establishing positioning and then demanding the ball. The team has a long way to go, but Reggie is doing his thing and wins a lot of pts with fans for being clutch.
