GT #29 Clippers @Wizards 12/28 7:00PM EST (CSN)

As the month comes to a close, things have taken an unexpected turn to the positive for this Wizards squad. Still struggling with injuries Washington has gotten back on track behind consistent effort on defense, unselfishness on offense and contributions from every player in their shortened rotation.

Wall is an obvious standout and while Dudley, Temple and Oubre have gotten a lot of credit, Gortat in particular has followed Wall's lead and has taken his game to another level during the teams four game winning streak.

Mostly relegated to setting picks and doing the dirty work early on in the season, Gortat has gotten more involved in the offense and shown the kind of form that earned him his contract extension.

For the month of December Marcin Gortat is averaging 17/10.4 on 57% shooting in 34.5 minutes on the floor. Without much depth behind him you couldn't blame him if he was more selective with his effort, but he's out there hustling from the opening tip and gets after it on both ends.

Having gotten the better of Cousins and Marc Gasol last week, Gortat will have an opportunity to give the Wizards an edge going up against DeAndre Jordan.

The big news for the Clippers is obviously the injury to Griffin. Having made up ground to close November and with strong performances throughout December this injury couldn't have come at worse time. There's not much depth in the front court and drama queen Josh Smith seems more interested in igniting old feuds.

For the Wizards to extend this streak to five, Wall and Gortat will have to be factors on both ends of the court, and Washington will need to get much of the same of what Temple, Oubre, Dudley and Sessions have been able to deliver.

Clearly, that last picture shows Jordan searching for guidance in his left palm while he launches a forearm shot to Gortat's groin. Griffin's shouting "It'll be worse next time you try dunking on us, Marsh."

I thought Eddie was the GOAT. Perhaps Gortat is the GCOAT?

It'd be nice to see Pierce get a warm ovation at the Booth... Then get spun around by the Wizard's young legs.

Beat him as a sign of respect.

We will probably get killed on the boards as usual. Pierce has been terrible this year but had a good game vs Utah recently. Was it a fluke or a sign of things to come?

But how many times PP had 2 good games in a row except playoffs? None or once maybe?

Garrett starting out shooting like the "unimproved" version of Temple.

Uh oh. We shooting like it'll be one of those nights (it's early, though). And the Clips have way more energy than we do

Temple was bound to regress. Asking him to run offense is stupid imo. No idea why Porter isn't starting. Temple hasn't earned a starting spot if Porter is healthy.
