Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXX
So lets say we make an offer for boggie. NENE and Beal, Plus 2017,2019, and maybe 2021 first round picks maybe some seconds. Some combinations of those picks and they take it. We would still have room for KD right because we would loose beals cap hold? It would deplete some of our extra cap room but would it leave us with any at all? but we would then have Gortat and Boogie. That would leave us with Wall, Obure, Porter, KD, Boogie, Gortat, Sato, white, 2016 picks, and min salary guys that we talk into coming here and any small amount of cap room that we have left. Am I right or am I missing something?

I think if you trade for Boogie you have to include Gortat in order to have cap space to sign Durant next summer.

That's why I'm asking the Cap guys because right now we have enough cap room for KD and we would have about 8 Mill left over and that's including gortats 10 and beal cap hold which is like 11 something I think. So if you replace beals cap hold with boogies 15 mill contract we should be able to get KD and have like a mill or 2 left over. I'm wondering if I'm correct.

Beal is damaged goods due to his re-occuring leg injury, his trade value is probably very low.

Beal sounds like a really interesting target for us, just how bad is his injury situation? I see he's been injured basically every season so far, though he's been able to play more games than not (maybe I just see that as a positive after all though Rose injury years).
Is it the sort of injury where carefully managing his minutes may keep him healthy? (much like we're doing with Noah this season).

No clue, and anyone who says they know is lying or dumb.
If you acquire Beal, do you move Butler to SF or move him altogether?

We definitely keep Butler. He's an untouchable for us.
I think there's 2 options - we either move Jimmy to SF and have Beal start at SG, or we keep the starting lineup as is and have Beal as a 6th man that finishes games (effectively a starter but coming off the bench to balance the lineups, I fear there may not be enough of the ball to go around between everyone in the starting lineup if you include Beal, having him play more minutes in the 2nd unit might be a better utilization of his talents).
In either scenario, because Jimmy can play either wing position, I think it would give us the versatility to keep Beal's minutes down around 25-30mpg, in the hopes he may be able to stay a bit healthier (that's why I asked).
I'm sure a lot of Bulls fans would be against Beal because we have enough players we're praying don't get injured as it is, and having Beal on the payroll going forward might not be the smartest thing long term, but personally, I think we need to take a risk.

Beal for Portis and 2nd rounder, what do you say?

Maybe. You guys know the feeling of having a new rookie who's showing promise, it's just like how highly your valuing Oubre right now despite a small sample size. It's really hard to say this early on that we'd move him. I think we'd have to say closer to the deadline, but I'd certainly give it heavy consideration. It's hard not to form an attachment to Portis, play his heart out.
I'd prefer to offer both our 2015 1st rounders, personally, but if push came to shove, giving up one of our bigs could be an option.

Not interested as a Wizards fan.

I would leap at Portis for Beal.
Beal's up for a new contract. I see players like Will Barton emerging and I think I can obtain a decent SG many ways. CJ McCollum is as good or better than Beal. Jordan Clarkson is in the same tier IMO,
With Beal expecting near max after missing games each season, I think drafting among Buddy Heild, Kris Dunn, and Michael Gbinije makes since.
(Edited--doclinkin, I would add Denzel Valentine to the list of players to draft. He's like a cross between Wes Matthews and Draymond Green. Right now I think Valentine might become yet another four-year player who gets drafted too low and who ends up a quality NBA starter.)
The Wizards need a PF. Bobby Portis is a good one.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

You're asking the key question, but no one really knows the answer. The Wizards will limit his minutes when he comes back so that will provide more data, but certainly won't be definitive. They've also claimed in the past that this injury won't affect the decision to offer a long term contract, but that's hard to believe so they're probably blowing smoke. It will probably come down to which team is willing to a make $100+ million gamble. With lots of desperate teams and lots of cap room around next year, Bradley will get offers.

I would definitely do it. If Beal had been drafted 15th instead of 3rd then some Wizards fans wouldn't think so highly of him. It isn't like he has been that productive.

That number 31 pick would look good with Portis.

I brought this up earlier:
Portis and Gibson for Beal and Humphries.

Lopsided in our favor, but I would be all over that.

I can't say that I would do that. I think Beal still has more value as a potential KD lure.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXX
Was thinking of ways to get Cousins + a stretch 4, probably way too ambitious:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h46g9f2
Send a lottery-protected 2016 1st rounder to the Nets, and a 2018 1st rounder to the Kings.
Why the Wizards do it: Get the best center in the league, and a stretch 4 that the Wizards could really use. Also doesn't knock them out of the KD sweepstakes, and a team like this is more appealing to Durant anyway.
Why the Kings do it: Probably the best package they'll get for Cousins, a starting 5 of Rondo, Beal, Casspi, Young, and Gortat isn't bad in my estimation.
Why the Pelicans do it: Most likely won't be able to resign Anderson, at least they replace his scoring and rebounding with Gay.
Why the Nets do it: They desperately need cap space and assets. They would also like a pick in this year's draft since they gave theirs to Boston.
Who says no?
