Vikings lead-up
This team either sucks or plays extremely average.
I'm guessing they're due for an average game to win the division.
Win
Pack 24
Vikes 17
1 defensive score will be the difference

Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

The excitement level for a game that decides the division crown is minimal for me. All I see is a bunch of walking wounded who are going to be even more beat up in two weeks. Oh yeah, and McCarthy coming up with job saving quotes.

Win and face Seattle most likely. Lose and go to Washington. Home game is good for the city so I'm hoping for the win Sunday. And I absolutely hate Queens fans.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hard to get excited when you know you have no chance against the top dogs in the conference, especially when you thought you were the top dog...

It's the NFL. You get in the playoffs and you always have a chance to win 4 in a row. Would it surprise me if we're one and done? Not really, but we also apparently had "no chance" going into Seattle last postseason and we were a special teams brain fart away from going to the SB.
This team just has too many playoff tested guys for me to think that they go out with a whimper. I think we run all over the Vikings and win a grind it out game.

I have a feeling that we win this one and then lose the first playoff game.

This feels like the game against Chicago 2 years ago. Win this game and win the division, but before we even play the game I feel like we have no chance of going anywhere in the playoffs IMO...

I felt more confident then because #12 came back and even without Rodgers, Flynn did a decent job in a couple of the games on offense to lead me to believe that we could at least do some positive things on that side of the ball. I have no such confidence in this offense this time around. I hope I'm wrong and they magically flip a switch.

Sounds about right. I'm expecting one and done in the playoffs but making a run wouldn't surprise me either.

Actually you are right. Our offense was much better then. We are all done.

No question that history has shown, the NFL playoffs can be volatile and thus say, 9-7 or 10-6 win teams can end up in the Super Bowl at the same time 12-15 win teams fail to advance.
That said, when you look at a team like the 2010 Packers who barely got into the playoffs and won it all or one of those Giants teams who also barely got in to win it all, both had at least one very clear strength. Those Packers were loaded with receiving weapons along with Rodgers, but the team had been ravaged by injuries. The Giants had an elite front four on defense and Eli Manning who while very erratic, he is a skilled quarterback. Both teams were able to ride those clear strengths to win some playoff games on the road.
Look though at this year's Packer team. What unit on either side of the ball has an elite group of players who might be able to click and help carry the team on the road multiple times vs better teams?
The defense and special teams are solid overall, but neither have greatness in them. The offense hasn't just been in some few weeks slump, it's struggled for about 10 weeks and has gotten progressively worse. The offensive line is beat up and at tackle, Barclay is worse than terrible if forced to play.
So besides the fact we have Rodgers and potentially he could get really hot in the playoffs, or if facing an Arizona and Carolina, they both turned it over a lot, there isn't much else left to think this current roster has a 2010 like run in them.

I can see us getting lucky against Carolina, Cam hit some great throws but he misses some too. We were pretty close in that game. I don't see us having any chance at AZ, they are just so much better than our team. Coaching, skill players, defenders. We have no shot.
So I can see us stumbling through the wildcard round and possibly having a lucky day against Carolina (wouldn't be on it), but can't see how we'd be competitive against AZ.
Realistically I see one and done. Getting smoked in embarrassing fashion in the divisional round.

Almost any other team, and I would hope they lose and go to Washington. But I know too many people from Minny and don't want to hear about them winning the division.

Re: Vikings lead-up
Left tackle David Bakhtiari dutifully fulfilled his media obligations Thursday afternoon, taking on all questions about his status for the game Sunday night against the Vikings.
Unfortunately, he couldn't shed a lot of light on whether he will be in the starting lineup.
Bakhtiari missed a second straight day of practice due to a sprained ankle he suffered in the Oakland game and has only a Saturday workout to prove that he can hold up for 60 minutes. The Packers will use every minute afforded them before making a decision on him.
"Getting better," he said. "Just taking it day to day. Should know probably later on throughout the week."
McCarthy had indicated this week that he was hopeful Bakhtiari would be able to do something in practice, but when the time came to make a decision everyone decided to lean toward precaution.
"It's on the coaching staff, and I think we felt better if I didn't practice," Bakhtiari said. "I didn't feel right."
Bakhtiari missed his first career game against Arizona and was badly missed. Backup Don Barclay couldn't handle the assignment and gave up 41/2 sacks in a 38-8 loss. The Packers will have to seriously consider someone else to play left tackle if Bakhtiari can't play.
Center JC Tretter filled in at right tackle after backup Josh Walker got knocked around filling in for injured starter Bryan Bulaga. Tretter held his own and at this point is probably the team's best hope at left tackle given his athleticism and versatility.
Coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the day that he felt Tretter could play anywhere on the offensive line. It's hard to imagine going with Barclay or Walker over Tretter given what happened in the Arizona game.
"He's done a phenomenal job," Bakhtiari said of Tretter. "I've seen him improve a lot and show he has value at multiple positions."
Elliott likely out: Outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott said he will likely miss Sunday's game due to injury and hopes to be ready for the playoffs.
Elliott, who has not practiced this week, suffered a thigh injury against Oakland and said the medical staff was finally able to get the swelling to go down.
He has been able to do some running to stay in shape.
Injury report: Daniels (groin), LB Mike Neal (hip) and TE Justin Perillo (hamstring) did not practice Thursday.
T Bryan Bulaga (ankle), DT Letroy Guion (ankle), RB Eddie Lacy (rib), G T.J. Lang (shoulder), C Corey Linsley (ankle), LB Nick Perry (shoulder), DT B.J. Raji (concussion), CB Sam Shields (concussion) and G Josh Sitton (back) were limited participants.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I cant agree more! I just have a feeling they will be up for this game and win, then lose in the first round.

Re: Vikings lead-up
The Green Bay Packers will be without CB Sam Shields for a third consecutive game after the club downgraded him from questionable to doubtful.
Shields remained in the concussion protocol all week despite taking part in two practices and apparently did not get clearance from an independent neurologist to play Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings. Shields did some work Wednesday in shells and Thursday in pads, but was limited in what he was able to do.
As a result, rookies Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins will start at the two outside corner positions with Casey Hayward filling the slot in the nickel.
The Packers did get good news on NT B.J. Raji (concussion) and OLB Mike Neal (hip). Both were upgraded from questionable to probable, which means they are expected to play.
The defense is going to need all the help it can get to stop Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, especially with DT Mike Daniels (groin) questionable. If Daniels can't play, Raji may have to pick up some of his snaps as a nickel rusher along with Mike Pennel.
Either Pennel or Letroy Guion would start for Daniels in the base 3-4 defense.
Left tackle David Bakhtiari (ankle) remained questionable.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Really thinking they lose this game and win next week after they get some of their guys back. Their defense is key this year and losing Daniels and Shields would be too much.
