Austin is Bossin' Around

Austin Rivers has indeed been balling tonight. Even Crawford has been contributing.

i think he's really just not that cerebral of a defender. it's a lot easier to just defend one of two ways all the time (guard? push up. big? hang back). instead of making snap recognition/decisions on the fly.

the thing that is really silly though is that he might be the most athletic center in league history. no big man is gonna blow by him without him catching up somehow.

Those people are posters on different sites just like us wouldn't take much of it serious. DJ has some lapses but has been great this season and doing a big job helping out with Blake down.

A Theory

Post#33 » by Wammy Giveaway » Thu Dec 31, 2015 3:29 am

I have a theory on DeAndre Jordan's free throw progression, but without research, it's just a theory. Or a hot take, however you want to slice it.

Ever since DeAndre's ejection to the Bucks this month (his first career ejection to boot), his free throw percentage has improved.

JJ and Austin had some big games. We were pretty much in control and didn't give up the lead even though the Hornets got close. We need to extend our streak with a win in New Orleans tomorrow night.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I'm still really impressed with what Austin did tonight. When he came in and shot his first 3, I was like NO! (it went in), then he shot a 2nd, NO! (miss) got it back a few seconds later, again open from 3 and shoots, NO! (goes in). And he made a lot of great plays getting into the lane, making floaters, layups...just an overall great game from him

JJ was phenominal as well, but him going 5-6 from 3 doesn't surprise me because that is what he is paid to do.

It was just nice to see that every time the Hornets cut our lead down to 1 or 2 we were able to respond, push it back to an 8-10 pt lead, and ultimately come away with the win.

Side note: The 10 seconds that Lance played at the end of the 1st Q was hilarious. He was BOOOOO'd BIG TIME by the entire crowd as he walked onto the court and his name was announced. And then committed a foul right after coming in, more boo's. I said to my GF when I saw him at the scorers table waiting to check in, "he is going to get boo'd like crazy" and on que. Haha.

Good win, keep them coming!

Anyone else really liking Aldrich's reads, vision and passing out of the pick and roll? Would actually be great if DJ had that ability, just as an extra element to the offense. DJ has shown some improvement in passing and reading the defense compared to earlier in his career, but it's certainly not a strength.

yeah, totally.

the thing i like is that even though he looks wild with his passes or his shot attempts, he's really not. his decisions always tend to be good, even if the animation looks manic.

if dj ended up staying with the mavs and cole was our starting C, i think we would have been pleasantly surprised in many ways.
