The thing is, even if we wanted them to make the playoffs and get blasted by GSW, it's not happening. We're 5-17 in our last 22 games and without our best player. This is a 20 win team at best.

Len for sure though that isn't saying much because they are both bust material.

Suns now have more losses than every team in the league except the Nets, Lakers, and 76ers. The Suns have already lost to the Nets and 76ers this season. That is pathetic.
I think there is a fair argument to be made that we are in full blown tank mode. Orders from above.![]()
Suns want the top pick in the draft.
At this point it doesn't matter. WITH the really good Kieff from last year AND Bledsoe, and everything clicking, we probably were fighting for the 7-8 seed with Dallas, Utah, New Orleans and Sacramento. So we maybe had a little less than a 50% chance. Now, no matter who we play in our lineup, we will not be ahead of any of those teams or probably Portland and maybe Denver.
There are a lot of good things that will come out of this. For those who hate Hornacek, he will be gone. Booker and Warren will obviously undoubtedly get a lot of minutes, and hopefully Len if he stays healthy and learns not to foul. Maybe we see what Bryce Cotton can be. I thought there were some very nice flashes from him tonight.

There is no chance in hell we win 20 games. I just can't see it right now.

I used to think he just wasn't getting any burn. The truth is that he is just not a great player and hasn't done anything to improve his game. Goodwin had his chances and he still can't crack the lineup. Len on the other hand was picked 4th and he looks like a total bust. Booker/Warren are the only good young guys on this team.
So would you willing to trade him for Ibaka now?

Step 1.... Force Sarver to sell.... He seems to be content in just making the playoffs. Unlike lakers and other teams who build teams that can and will contend for rings. He just needs to let McD or any GM do their vision properly.
Step 2. Implement a champion culture. Bring in ex champion staff members who would teach the youth mannerism, expectations, behaviour of winners and champions. Draft good guys.

Cutter wrote:The homers on this board are the 50% of posters who say we have the talent to make the playoff, but we just need a new coach because Horny has "lost the team". What a croc of ****. JHornacek, Pop, Rick Carlisle or any other coach isn't doing anything with this cast of talent. With the perfect system this group can over-achieve like 2 years ago when we won 48 games. However, once the league adjusts our average talent produces average to below average results.
Sorry for the negativity, but I also view this as a realistic analysis of the team.
That's not that negative, and is realistic. As good as I think those coaches are, I don't think they get that first team to 48 wins either. We were expected to be about as good as the Sixers two years ago. We overachieved. That pretty much did Horny in. This team, even last year, played over it's head much of the time, and for many games this year, when we stuck in games with far more talent and wouldn't give Leuer one minute of playing time.
At least when Bledsoe went down in year one we had a better ball handler than Knight. I won't say I'd rather have Dragic than Knight right now, since I think we should accept the tank anyway, and hopefully it's an opportunity on Knight to work on his ball handling skills (though he's already had a while in the league to do that) but he should at least improve on his assist to turnover ratio.
The same thing kind of did D'Antoni in with many fans.

You have a better chance of climbing this than that happening.

So we are getting closer and closer to that top 3 pick everyone wants! Good times! I really do feel with the way this year is going, I could see us winning the lottery, or at least moving into top 3. If we can get Simmons or Ingram that would be huge. Bender I THINK maybe as well. I'm sure there are some others that will emerge.
Everyone (especially people like SF88) say they HATE being in that 8th-9th seed spot, so finally seem to be moving in the direction to net us that high pick, so for some, you'd think that is a good thing.
I'm fine with it. I certainly didn't want to be in purgatory forever either. I've already stated I'd rather get a top 3 pick than get swept by the Warriors, even though I will never actively pull for us to lose in a game.
I really have a hard-on for a Porzingis type PF/C player and wonder if Dragan could be that type of player.

Well, since apparently I'm a homer, I would be kind of surprised if we won less than 20, since we already have 12. We nearly beat Cleveland. I think with about 48 games left, lets say 24 on the road and at home. I'd say we win 5 on the road and 9 at home, which would put us at 26 wins. But that should still give us the 4th-7th slot in the draft and a good chance to move up.

Len has picked foul trouble is not a coincidence. Goodwim hasnt played in a few games gets thrown in to the lions. Booker shooting and missing plenty. Etc.
The spurs plans for all.
Spurs are basically the Galactic Empire and Pop is Chancellor Palpatine. The Dark SIde strikes again! They just won't go away and let us have our reign of supremacy
Maybe we do need that female coach. I mean Rey kicked some serious ass...possibly already my favorite character in the series.
I mean, c'mon, what's Markieff gonna do when he gets that look? He's going to be just like Finn.
To add to this, the Spurs have become elite (in terms of all time pt differential) after their female assistant was added so maybe we at least need a woman to get in there and start yelling at people. You had a respectful female yell at you? I haven't of course, but I imagine it whips you right into shape.
I mean..

OK, yes, I really like her.
And I don't really think we need a female coach, but you never know..maybe an assistant breaks some balls.

For sure. I also am not entirely sure we trade the pick for Knight if Sarver didn't say something like "we don't need THAT many young guys and picks! We need players who can play now!" At least he isn't selling our own picks any more.
jeezus.... this is the biggest crawl up McDuh's rump and wiggle blame deflection I've seen to date. You have out done yourself. No one can touch your 'hampstering' talents. You really believe things like this?
Bad enough to get the smug know it all, condescending rebuttals, and futuristic reassurances, whenever anyone questions the direction of the team. (Hats off to the torch carrierswho haven't given in to the rosy glassers). King Midas McDuh knows what he is doing. Or does he? He has drafted 3 guys that appear to have a future with us... two have been dubbed All Stars already, and our dominate big man got demoted by an old man. But thats apparently on Sarver too. Just so we could get a sister kiss chasing LMA. That almosts feel good. (but please, stop the Bogdan praise/penciled in starter. He's the new hopethrob of the Goodwhiners)
From what I have seen.. McDuh has done OK drafting... and we do have a few extra late picks... our best one, aside from the one we are cruising towards, doesn't drop till 2021.... thats uh... 5 yrs from nowMc has made one really good trade, some so so-ers, and a couple of WTFs. But he has poorly managed the personnel here and screwed the pooch in free agency. Certainly there is a question with his coach selection, as well as this love affair with multiple combo guards.
Frankly, all his efforts over the past three years, puts us almost back on page one. He's all in with Knight, and for his and our sake, we'd better hope the 2 of the three draftees come through. And Bled ??? you really think he will re-up with us. I don't see it.
King Midas? More like Prince Pyrite to me. He has a lot of unfinished work to do.
So Yeah... I am still around, still eyeball games and this site. Was holding off till the new year and hopefully a roster shuffle, but the
nutless wonders in the FO can't even muster up enough balljuice to tell Morris to stay home till further notice. Pathetic. My guess, very few GMs would tolerate MoBro being around to sour the troops. Might be why he is still here. Oh well... I don't know what to expect anymore, especially after hearing a few of McDuh's BS pressers. Carry on Bgwood... I'll be watching.
The legend is back. Frank oh I have missed you. Had to carry the mantle in your absence
