Should Cowboys put hat in ring for Sean Peyton?
Yes, yes, hell yes. This guy will get everything out of our offense if he ever gets the opportunity.

Wow. Another bad week of situational football and giving one away. Linnehan should be fired immediately and do we need to see anymore of Garrett. This is getting beyond pathetic.

How much more do we need to see of Garrett. He has been out schooled every game at half time this year. He just doesn't have it guys.

I guess its time to forget about this thread. I guess I'm all alone in getting rid of Garrett. I thought a few of you might have a different perspective. Oh well.

Well... Jerry won't fire him. So it's a little pointless to get our hopes up.
I don't disagree with you though. He has had plenty of opportunity to show some leadership. And the fact they couldn't win one stinking game while Romo was out is pretty damning.
But - Jerry is Jerry.

Even up here in New England, newspapers and local sports shows (especially those out of Boston), all said Garrett is nothing more than a game prep manager. They all predicted he would get schooled by Bellicheat with adjustments.

Maybe by some act of God, accident, heart attack, something to force the sale of the team. Then we hire Peyton as head coach, give him full control of the draft and scouting, then we can enjoy the ride for a few years.

I know I was 2 months ahead of most on this one, but what are the chances Jerry takes a serious look at after the Redskins kill us this weekend at home? You get the feeling if we do get blown out, Garrett's seat becomes instantly super hot, if you know what I mean.

Re: Should Cowboys put hat in ring for Sean Peyton?
I would LOVE to see him make a run at Payton. Just as I would have LOVED seeing him make a run at Mike Zimmer when he was available before "settling" on Garrett. I was the biggest Zimmer fan on Fan Nation and constantly beat the drum for that guy. I hate that of all the teams he could have ended up with, he ended up with the friggin' Queens!
I got into a legitimate Tweet chan with one of the local scribes over Garrett. I just don't think Jerry will pull the trigger... we all know how he hates to admit he might have made a mistake and really wants Garrett to succeed. The local DMN writer (who I respect as being fairly level headed overall) did make the comment "you do know that Jerry can be mercurial". Of course he's right.
Bottom line for me - if he can get Payton, grab him! But if not, there is no reason to change coaches simply to change coaches. That's what the Browns do.

Coach of the Dallas Cowboys!!!!! WE could attract the best of the best in coaches if Jerry would do just one thing; let the football people make the football decisions.

you can Blame Parcells for us losing Zimmer, & then Payton. The rest is trivial since Garrett will stay the HC of the cowboys. No chance of him being fired.
I am happy for Zimmer. (Will always be a Zimmer backer) Always new he would become a good HC. He gets more out of less than any coach I know since Dan Reeves.

Look what Zimmer has done with the Vikings in such a short time. Peyton turned around a team that wore bags over their heads for decades and brought them a Super Bowl. Look what Jerry has given us the past 20 years. A GM and Owner who thinks he can coach, scout, draft and run football operation from the press box better than anyone. The day you think you know it all and look down on everyone and their opinions, is the day your in trouble.

Zimmer and Peyton left because they thought Parcells was going to stay in Dallas for a while. The following year Jerry brought in Cancer Terrell Owens and forced him out. I blame Jerry for that fiasco also.

I wanted him to leave New Orleans.
It's not happening now but I was excited for him to be gone.
Adding him would have been a great way to begin the off-season.

Wish it had worked out for you... and us.

Tell Peyton that some of us in Cowboy nation still want him back in Big D.
