haha. I became a fan of the 2008 Boston team. not a US fan, don't have to worry. I'm a fan of Porzingis and Whiteside now.

My other preference, which is much stronger, is AC Milan. My first game I can recall is the famous Göteborg match (4-0), Van Basten had a great game. I was fan of the later squads as well. My favorite player is Shevchenko.

Chalm Down wrote:Yes, the Heat were the team that gave Whiteside a chance, but imo he has re-payed that chance with his level of play that well exceeds his current salary (not to mention all the fan excitement/money he has generated for the team).

I believe Hassan will not give the Heat a discount considering this is his time to make money after a minimum pay, plus Whiteside already gave Miami a discount for the last two season.. But my point is, at this point Whiteside is not worth $20m a year.

Flash4thewin wrote:I dont know how to break this to you but Dragic is signed to an 18 mil a year contract.... 90/5 = 18. A savings of what 10% at the most? 2 mil a year difference in signing a player who no one else was trying to sign? A better example would be Bosh who is a big who multiple teams will offer the max. How much of a discount did Bosh give us? Yup Zero, he was signed to the max because that was the only way to keep him with other teams offering maxes.
Bosh gave the Heat a discount already when he sign his 1st contract with 2 championship, thats why there is no regret for giving it to him especially there are serious offers and the Heat could have been much worst team without him.

insfo wrote:Dragic's salary is actually 85/5 .. so basically a 15% discount? That's not something to sneeze at. And I totally agree with the last part of the last sentence. Pat will do what he thinks is best ... and I'm hoping that does not reflect the folks posting on here dying to push a Max contract down Hassan's throat

Dragic gave Miami a discount!!! Nope, the contract he just sign is what he's really worth.
As for Whiteside, I want him back but not for $20m per.. Heat also should not give him the max so they can go after another big name free agent. Heat is still climbing the east and the east is strong this season, two above 500 teams that are out of the playoff picture..

Growth, it happens when you have a center who's essentially a 2nd year player in terms of experience. He's going to keep getting better and better.

The best part about this win was remembering all of the people questioning Hassan's importance because of small ball. Lol

Fast forward one month and a few adjustments later and suddenly Bosh and Whiteside are dominating together whereas people where questioning if those two would ever fit back in November.

He took a couple of junpshots and went like 1-4 on them. The rest he missed two easy hooks that he can normally make.

Maybe it's just me but when I see him struggle it sometimes looks like his head is out of the game, like he stops trying. Then he gets 3 blocks in a row and I'm like "well I guess he's alright".

Something about his demeanor/effort makes me nervous sometimes.

It's not that he stops trying he just doesn't have a great motor. It's one thing if he can see the result, for example something along the lines of "if I expend this much energy it'll result in a dunk or a chase down block" or something of that nature but he doesn't have the blue collar mentality to go all out just to go all out.

It'll come with experience. Once he starts to realize what he can do to dominate games even if he's not scoring or blocking shots.

He was great defensively vs the Wizards. He had John Wall scared.

That's the worrying part, players don't get a better motor with more experience and (much) more money. Quite the opposite. As he gets older and richer, that can mean trouble.

He was great in the second half with the blocks, he's a natural elite rim protector. But Gortat also got like 8 offensive boards when Hassan just looked lazy. His body language is just terrible sometimes, I would be very nervous if I was expecting someone with his on-court demeanor to be a leader of any team. He often pouts for no good reason or looks disinterested when things aren't going well for him. Luckily we don't need him to lead, but still if you're giving him a max money deal, it can't go unnoticed. Mentally, He's still less mature then 19YO Justise. And I'm talking all on-court stuff. Don't care about off court.
