For those of you who have been around awhile, I have some sad news to share. I received an email from a mutual friend informing me that our friend "Dunkenstein" (Andy Stein) passed away last week. Beyond that sad note, I know no other details to provide re his passing.
For those that didn't know him, he was one of the brightest of the bright on CBA rules, going way back to the days in the early 2000s when CBA rules were a matter of confusion and obscure to most. His name appears in multiple places over the years in Larry Coon's CBA FAQ, as someone who provided help, corrections, and expertise in fleshing out the obscure details in the rules. We shared many a thread here, sometimes in arguments over trying to sort through the bottom line, and many others in agreement and mutual help.
Although I didn't know him from other than in this forum, I had grown to admire him and his even-tempered spirit greatly. You will be missed, my friend.

That is awful. I saw Larry Coon's note at the top of the FAQ, but had never made the connection that the two were the same person until now.
As odd as it sounds, thanks for sharing despite the sad news. I had wondered why he hadn't posted in a while.
RIP.

Oh wow, just seen this.
Helped me more than he ever should have done, knowing it was a debt that could never be repaid, knowing that he never wanted it to be repaid. That's what a true role model is made of.
