Yo bw, I think I'm gonna make a graph of "wins per month/posts on this thread per month" and see if, as I expect, the plotted line stays even. maybe I'll post it here at the end of the season.

Honestly, I don't think this Star Wars adds anything to the series. Felt like a tribute with a walkthrough to all the old faces, names and relationships. Forgive me if anyone's big on Lost, which I havent seen, but JJ Abrams continues to underwhelm me. I'm just saying

You really didn't like it? Were you a fan of the others? Not sure how old you are but did you grow up seeing the first released ones first?

.....pretty sure I saw the originals on VHS (can't wait until someone asks me "what the bleep is that?") before the prequels. 92% sure. This.....it felt like a rehashing of the original Vader battle, Harrison Ford, all the old classic references since we forgot most of the plot. Come on.....the new evil guy is not at all original. Based on the main new character, you could call it "A New Hope 2," but does it bring anything new to the franchise? Not yet......not for me. I'll see 8, though

Well I think most people will agree it is a bit of a mirror of the original, but with quite a few differences and new stars, but it all makes sense and was really fun imo. But I saw the original as a kid growing up and had all the star wars figures so maybe much of it for some will be nostalgia.

I love that no one does anything but the guy with the guitar, and Tracy Morgan doing whatever he is doing and keeping that straight face is awesome. And then one guy holds the piano that is never touched..everyone else is useless.

Happy Holidays!

This looks like a better series than NBC normally would put out...

So I didn't like Star Wars at all. I guess I just don't get it why it's so popular.

I take it you didn't like any of the other ones either?

I saw The Big Short a couple of days ago. Probably the best movie of 2015 that I've seen, but I still have 5-10 on my list.

I figured I'd see that on opening weekend (which I guess, in larger release is still this weekend) because I usually see all of his on opening weekend, but with so much sports, I figured I'd wait.

A warning though. It's over 3 hours, so make sure you are ready for that. I also heard it was basically split into two halves (I think it might be better knowing this going in) and I think maybe one half focuses on back stories of characters, and then you see them all collide in the second half. So if you might be wondering when things will really get going, I think it's something like that. Hopefully you don't consider this a spoiler.

I really liked Hateful Eight, I think it's my favorite Tarantino film. I saw it in 70mm which had an overture at the beginning and an intermission, so it was a bit longer than the wide release showings will be, but I felt that it really moves. But then again, it might be the intermission that helped make it feel that way.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I haven't seen that one yet but my favorites of the year so far have been Ex Machina, Sicario, and Mad Max. Star Wars is probably right in there too but Ex Machina stayed with me for a while.

Yeah, I almost said it was just behind Ex Machina, and maybe it was because I just saw it, but I liked it better. I also really liked Sicario. I loved Star Wars, and I could maybe call that my favorite but I am not sure I equate that with best, or something I think it award worthy...it was great though. Mad Max was fun too.
