Ranking the top college prospects since 2012 I would rank them as follows. This excludes international players.

Game changers who should be a able to carry their team to an NBA championship.
1. Simmons
2. Embiid
3. Davis

Elite player who is right there with them but just a tad below on the next tier.
4. Towns

Very good players who can be a very good second option and at times the first option but winning a championship won't be as them as the best player. They are a decent gap from Towns.
5. Okafor
6. Wiggins
7. Parker

If Jordan Mickey stayed in school, LSU would be a serious National Championship contender. There are no great teams this year.

I'm not that impressed with him for some reason.

davis behind simmons and embiid? are you serious? davis is way more talented than biid and simmons.

If you read it properly it was college prospects which has nothing to do with amount of nba games played

Okafor is better than Town's.

Davis is supertalented but I'm very concerned about the fact that after 4-5 years in the league, he still can't manage to carry his team into a durable play-off team.

Wiggins and Parker are overrated atm.

I agree that, if we miss out on SImmons and Ingram, and if Embiid can't stay healthy, we should build around Okafor.

It would be like Portland. Miss out greatness because of Oden and Roy's injuries, but become a very respectable team (short of 1 top player) because of LMA.

This is my ranking of them before they played or play a minute of NBA ball. This is purely based on skill level and playing at 100% health.

And when did I say Towns wasn't a beast? He is a beast. Being 4th on my list isn't a knock against him. Someone has to be first and second and third and fourth and so on. And this is all about how I rank them before playing in the NBA. If there were an NBA draft with all of these players on the same draft I would draft them in that order.

Okafor is better than Town's.

Come on. Stop being a homer. No one would take Okafor over Towns. In what way is Okafor better than Towns? Would we be an even worse team with Towns? Would Minnesota be better with Okafor? Okafor is a very good scorer but he's not close to the level of defender or rebounder as Towns.

He got in foul trouble and didn't play about half of the first half. He only had two points at the half. In the second half he facilitated and played good defense but the rest of the team pretty much carried the score load. Simmons scored 3 buckets Quincy near the end when it was pretty much over but still impressive buckets though. Simmons scored the 14 points on seven shots. The last three shots were made with his right hand during crunch time. He also had a steal outside the three point line late in the game. Simmons choked the life out of a struggling Kentucky team. An impressive win coming off the road win against Vandy. It will be interesting to see if LSU can overcome it's weak start against non conference teams to make the Tournament.

I'm sorry but I'm going to be beyond pissed if we don't get the top pick. Missing out on the top pick the last two years didn't make me that upset. I was actually ok with not getting it. This year, however, I can't be ok with it. Whoever get Simmons is guaranteed to be major press and be competing for championships eventually. If he goes to Boston they will be a top 3 seed for the foreseeable future. He's all they need. They already have their backcourt settled. All they need is a star and Simmons is a frontcourt player so he fits in perfectly with them. I want him on the Sixers.

I will be upset too, but I would be pissed if Simmons went to the Lakers or Celtics (via Brooklyn).

I would also be very pissed if we dropped out of the top 2 even more so. Simmons is by far the top guy, Ingram is second (albeit a bit far off from Simmons), but after the top 2...bleh...I would hate going through a season like this where we are looking at our prize being a Jamal Murray or a Kris Dunn.

In terms of our other possible later picks (i.e. Heat and OKC if they convey). I would really like a drop dead 3 point shooter on our team or a SG with potential. Stauskas looks at the moment as if he can not be that guy (and please don't get me started on Canaan), but it is imperative we get one with the bigs on our roster.

I mean, as things currently stand, there's a 73.3% chance that you're gonna be pretty pissed come May 17th. And a 35.5% chance that you're gonna be really, really pissed. May the odds ever be in your favor. :evil:

Yeah, I simply don't think we will end up with the first overall pick..No way....We for some reason are going to be punished for tanking despite not even having the worst record last year. In fact I am willing to bet we can catch the Lakers at this point with the chemistry that is starting to form solid scattered masses on this team. I know it sounds absolutely crazy of me to suggest that the NBA has control over the #1 pick and NOT the lotto balls, but that's exactly how I feel. I don't necessarily think the entire lotto is done that way, but I think when the last 2 picks are left the league determines which team will draft first overall. Either that or it could be done when a new bona fide superstar is about to enter the league....League kinda dictates where the player goes...I don't know if that's true though how does one explain Anthony Davis in New Orleans? I could be and hope that I am wrong about all of this though. I just think there is more to it than just lotto balls...Location, marketing, current roster all play a big role. A guy like Simmons is going to put LA back on the map which in turn will drive up sales, marketing, national TV spots, etc. He of course would be great in Philadelphia though, but him going to LA is better for the NBA overall like it or not....LA is just "that place".
With that said we deserve a freakin break at this point. We have been patient for quite some time now, and other struggling teams have righted their ship (Warriors, Cavs), I think we deserve the same opportunity and our prominence should experience a rebirth with Simmons.
