Lin simply has to play better. I know his ankle is messed up but. In the preseason he used his mid-range jumper a lot. He has to start shooting the ball mid-range, even if he's a volume scorer, rather than drive, drive, drive where he becomes mistake-prone. If the drive is there, take it. If the refs are calling fouls, then draw them. If they aren't, then whenever he gets space, stop and pop. That's it. His limiting his game to dribble/drive score or dish is taking away his own offensive weapons and making him predictable.
As a facilitator, do it more from different areas of the court, pass quicker. Several times Lin missed Kaminsky for a split second with his arms up on rolls. That used to be Lin's specialty, releasing that ball to the roller for an easy duece. He's not doing that now.
He probably needs to play less minutes but can't with Batum out. So, he needs to limit what he does on the court. He'll have to play D so he needs to take less effort setting guys up. Lin really isn't playing his best ball at all. We see glimpses of it, but it's getting to the point in the season where he has to pull it together, get through this injury, and start really contributing more offensively. Especially in the 4th quarters which used to be his best quarter 2 seasons ago.
