1/07 Atlanta at Philadelphia

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Jan 7, 2016 10:27 pm

After losing three of our last four games we need this win.
We beat Philly 127-106 during the previous meeting.
Philly is coming off a win against Minnesota, so let's not be the team that gives them their first win streak, and let's take this one serious.

After this game we have a day off before we host Chicago.

Hawks are favored to win by 9 points.
GO HAWKS.

Ish Smith is the truth. Philly's gone 3-3 since his arrival, and our 19-0 run was sparked by him going to the bench.

Tim Hardaway Jr. with 8 points, two 3 pointers. I really hope his minutes and confidence continue to increase and that he becomes a contributor from here on out.

Our ball movement is also picturesque tonight.

Good to see them open it up, and glad Tim is active.

A Horford with 9 boards, 3 blocks and 7/10 on FGAs from inside the arc.

That's my dawg. Playing like a big man and teaching the young rooks a thing or two.

Wow the Hawks had 100pts by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Baz looked amazing, like a prime Pippen. He wasn't just laying back and taking what the sixers gave, he was forcing the action and causing problems for the sixers all game long.

Schroder and Hardaway just had ok games. Its good that they got playing time, but really, they only did well because they were taking what the sixers were giving, which was alot.

Splitter has been really disappointing. I thought he could be a 10/10 Zaza with better defense and he hasn't. If Splitter can be that guy, i think the Hawks can be elite

Stauskas surpised me how bad he is. He just doesn't look like an NBA player.

Noel really impressed me, for a big man, he has great eyes. He has good length and seems to know where everybody is and where the ball is at all times. Their were a few plays where it looked like he read the Hawks play before it happen and was able to get his hands or feet in the right place at the right time.

Hawks almost scored 130pts and only one guy had over 20pts. The team had 36 assist total

Not much to take away from the Sixers, they are like a bowl of chicken soup, comforting but not necessarily what's going to help you beat the flu.

I am glad Hawks won but let me tell you- I'd never imagined that the more I'll watch Splitter the more I miss Pero freaking Antic. :(

YIKES!!!

I admit, Splitter has been largely disappointing.

But missing Pero? Oh my?

I tell you who I DO wish we'd have re-signed as backup Center...Zaza Pachulia.

He priced himself out of our range, but I also got the feeling Ferry never felt comfortable with Zaza's style of play in the system he envisioned.

This win was expected, but it ended our two game losing streak, so facing Philly came at a good time.
Our players needed a fun and let's just have fun kind of night against a terrible team.

I always like Pero. I always said that Pero is great for his contract. Splitter makes $10 million a year.

Splitter is already 31yr and his peek seems to be 10/6. I don't see the Hawks resigning him unless he takes a Pero size contract.

Good news it that Zaza becomes a free agent this year and seems like he could be got for $5 million a year.
