I don't think anyone wants Morris. As a basketball player he has value. As a person, he is a pariah.

It's complicated. He moves well laterally, but is often an unmotivated help defender. Doesn't do a good job contesting jumpers by long PFs like Aldridge, but he's a strong post defender. He's athletic, but due to short arms, he's not a rim protector. Motivation is the key issue - he's a very smart player, and good defender when engaged.

I heard some interesting stats on Lowe's podcast yesterday regarding Keef defending Dray Green. Apparently, in 22 minutes against Keef, Dray has shot an abysmal percentage, and can neither penetrate, create nor shoot against Keef. It makes sense actually, given their similar sizes and Keef's strength.

Hope that answers your question.

Imo the most likely scenario is the suns getting an expiring contract plus picks or draft rights, possibly, via a 3 team trade.

Cool & calm? You know Terrence Jones had his own assault issue that settled out of court? In some respects it wasn't as bad as Moriss' assault but in other ways it was worse.

I agree that the likely outcome is a roleplayer & a future 1st that is heavily protected unless a team is also taking Chadler or Knight. Then things begin to open up. I want the JJ contract. It isn't about having the room to sign KD or something silly but rather we clear the slate to chase guys that fit better. If we are going to continue to start Bledaoe we need a roster of smart players that are willing passers. More Bookers & less Knights. More Leuers and less Morisses.

Maybe I'm a holier than thou moralist but I think TJones is even worse scum considering he curb stomped a homeless man just to get his rocks off. He would be a versatile rotational big with wing athleticism but is still another knucklehead classic tweener like the Twins who this board vastly overrates. If a replacement level player like him is considered a "starting caliber" PF this league really has a dearth at the position. Plus he's an RFA who's prolly gunna get paid and I'd rather try to pursue DMo if he tests the market. But Houston has to choose one over the other. I would be okay with getting Sully. But right now he looks out of shape and is easily winded

It's safe to say we'd do that deal, especially with McD's ties to Boston.

Kieff can be good if he's motivated. So I'm sure he'd play just fine elsewhere.

I expect Markieff to go back to being a sixth man of the year type player when he gets traded. He clearly tanked every game he played in this year. Even the games he scored well he was tanking. He can hit mid-range jump shots in his sleep and every now and then during parts of games he tried. Hence why he had some decent scoring games. But overall he was sleepwalking through every game.

Stoudemire said he considered signing with Phoenix last summer but wanted to be on a title contender. “That’s why I chose Miami but Phoenix is still not ruled out,” Stoudemire said. “I have a lot of basketball left in me.”

Stoudemire’s Friday return was sentimental for a Suns run that began as Rookie of the Year and ended with five All-Star seasons. “I have so many good memories here,” Stoudemire said. “It feels like home. It truly does. I look around and see everything around the arena, the practice court and the city and it feels like have a connection that I can’t break. I feel comfortable. “

In addition, acquiring jennings via trade would make suns competitive again and maybe even good enough to reach the 8th seed, only to get swept by the warriors anyway AND have jennings walk.

I doubt the suns will get much for keef, cause of the notion of him being a headcase. Houston is the type of franchise that likes to take risks, but how do you justify trading a cool and calm guy like terrence jones for keef, when you already took a chance on lawson and that whole failed miserably.

And why would the celtics trade sully and jonas for keef? They've just managed put together a young, talented and emotionally stable core and then you add keef to the mix?

Imo the most likely scenario is the suns getting an expiring contract plus picks or draft rights, possibly, via a 3 team trade.

Yeah. I think it's fairly obvious that if Jennings came here, and played well, somebody would be gone in the offseason (probably during the draft). Jennings wouldn't re-sign with both guys here, and we'd have no reason to pay all 3 big money, particularly after all the heat from the Hydra. But It's probably unlikely regardless, and I only seeing it happen if Detroit threw in a pick because that would give us something we'd actually value beyond half a season. I don't think Detroit throws a pick in, so I don't see the trade happening. I still like the Jones trade more, although Jennings is a good fit for a fast system. I think he's been misused most of his career due to the playing style of the coaches he's been under.

Well, there's 2 things here. One, a homeless guy knows Jones has money, and therefore it's not unheard of that this wouldn't be made up knowing he'd get a pay day. On the other hand, because homeless people need money, it's certainly possible Jones did it and paid him off.

As far as his play on the court though, he's far above replacement player, and easily a solid starter. He's not starting in Houston anymore, but his /48 numbers through his first few years clearly show that he's a starter at this level, even though he's had a down year by advanced stats this year after going to the bench. He'd be the best PF on our team, and better than Markieff has ever been according to the efficiency and defensive numbers.

Look at this comparison of Jones, DMo, Markieff, Ibaka, Jabari Parker, and Kanter. Ibaka is the only one with better numbers.

Here's another, with Jones, Capela, Monroe, Parker, Randle, and Greak Freak:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=1&p1=joneste01&y1=2016&p2=antetgi01&y2=2016&p3=capelca01&y3=2016&p4=randlju01&y4=2016&p5=monrogr01&y5=2016&p6=parkeja01&y6=2016

Granted, Capela, Greak Freak, and Parker are 21, so Jones is 3 years older, but his numbers are good regardless.

Man, New Orleans and Minnesota are really tanking. I want to at least see the Suns in the 4 seed. It's going to be tough. We need to trade some vets and replace them with more Lorenzo Brown caliber guys.

I wish Bledsoe didn't go down so we could trade Knight, hopefullly booker keeps this level up and maybe in the offseason we can flip knight and bring bogdan in to backup booker

Jared Sullinger isn't really a choirboy either.. I think Sullinger/Turner for Markieff works well, too.. As a Celtics fan, the real negotiating question is how eager McDonough/Sarver are to get rid of Morris (a little? a lot? not at all?)- would they give up a future 1st, or TJ Warren, in the bargain? Or do they want Sullinger and another asset from us, since Jared will be a RFA?
