I think he knows there's no way he's back at his current contract number. So he floats his retirement out there to see who's interested and at what number.

If I were him I'd do it. Dudes made like $150 mil right ?

Maybe playing for a perennial loser has taken all his desire for football away. Time for a change for him.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Interesting. Sucks to be a Lions fan.

Like I said in the other thread. Almost no chance it happens, but if I were to go after any big name FA this offseason, it would be Calvin Johnson.

Sure, we'd be sacrificing a ton of cap room and it's not Ted's MO, but you can argue that it's the offensive equivalent to when Reggie White hit free agency. When a player of his caliber hits the open market, you at least have to consider making him an offer. He's still got 2-3 more prime years left IMO.

The Lions just loving burning out their elite skills players, don't they? I'd love to see him on a good team, but I doubt anyone trades for Johnson unless he agrees to restructure.

If Megatron does really want to quit, I think he'll restructure with the right team.

When Al Michaels mentioned that Chad Greenway was thinking of retiring, I was a bit surprised because he's in his early 30s. But, frankly, there are more and more players considering retiring younger due to what we now understand to be the potential long-term effects of playing professional football.

In Calvin's case, it's not necessarily head trauma that Greenway has probably sustained in his career, but CJ has had an assortment of relatively minor injuries that could have degenerative effects in the long run if he continues to play.

Gase is going to offered the HC job from MIA. Bears next year without gase, possibly forte and Jeffery will be easy. Also I think Bennett has clashed with fox, so he could be gone.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

These offenses are pathetic. They look like ours.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Third pick in the first half for Hoyer.
