So, NBA Draft thread... Simmons is a great prospect, maybe generational. Pro body at 240 lbs. GREAT FACILITATOR!!!.. Devil's advocate: No jump shot yet but he does hit his FTs. Could be a spacing problem in the NBA if defenses sag off of him. Probably more of a PF on offense until Jumper comes around. Does he have the foot speed to guard SF/SG on the perimeter? He's a point PF, right now.

Brandon Ingram: 14 months younger than Simmons and 40 lbs lighter. At the same age, Simmons weighed 225 (25 lb differential). Ingram has two more inches of standing reach 9' 2" which is 1/2 inch less than Nerlens. Ingram is a true perimeter scorer with a sweet stroke and has a skill/length combination greater than Giannis with a ceiling that could be KD-like. Ingram is a SG/SF. INGRAM IS MUCH FURTHER AWAY FROM HIS CEILING THAN SIMMONS.

We're still looking for our Savior so BPA should still dictate choice but Ingram IS THE BETTER FIT GIVEN OUR CURRENT ROSTER AND THE PENDING SARIC ARRIVAL.

I would prefer Simmons right now but if we end up with Ingram, I will be thrilled! Best case scenario for me? We pick #1 and get Simmons and then trade OK4 and Saric for rights to draft Ingram. If the LAL pick conveys this year, pick a PG.

(Dunn-LAL), Ish, TJ
Stauskas, Thompson, (Denzel Washington), (Caris LeVert), (Buddy Hield)
Ingram, RoCo, Thompson
Simmons, Grant, Landry
Noel, Embiid, Holmes

This team can defend, pass, run and shoot (well enough). MIA & OKC picks can be for wings and Colangelo can sign FAs to fill the roster. Mike Conley? Chandler Parsons? Batum? DeRozan?

Tank over.

No way would I trade Okafor and Saric for Ingram. That's overkill. I would argue Okafor is the better player coming out of college than Ingram so just trading Okafor straight up for Ingram would be a fair deal. If the other team wanted more no way do I trade Saric. I would trade the next highest draft pick we have for him if it came to that.

I'm not trading Okafor in favor of Noel in any situation. He is the least flexible of the 3 bigs. He is not going to be able to play with Embiid if he can't play with Jah. I can see Biid and Jah playing together on both ends. If, and it's a big if, Embiid comes back healthy, he is every bit the D guy Noel is without the horrific bad hands on O.

You know who would be a good fit with Simmons in the backcourt? A guy that can handle the ball and shoot. DLO! Oh, what could have been (Sixers) or what could be (Lakers).

It's going to be so sickening if a team like the Lakers win the lottery and get Simmons. The entire national media would be so happy and say they deserve it since Kobe is retiring and they need that next star. They also will say they are happy the Sixers didn't get the top pick because we tanked and we would "ruin" Simmons. They applaud the Lakers and don think they are a mess but blast the sisters saying we have no clue and we got what we deserve for what we did the last 3 years. Any team but the Sixers who get the top pick will be hailed.

If the Celtics win it then they will say see? You don't have to do what the Sixers did to get the top pick and now the Celtics will be a contender next year. If the Pelicans win it they will say AD and Simmons will be one of the best twosomes in the NBA and the Louisiana crowd loves him. If the Bucks get him they will say look at the young nucleus they have now. They are going to be so good. If the Sixers win it they will just say what will Hinkie do now? He's just going to tank again and isn't trying to win. And you know he didn't want to draft Simmons. Colangelo is the one who drafted him. If it were up to Hinkie he would have drafted another center hahaha. Smh. They will say how is he going to fit in the lineup? What are the Sixers trying to do? It's just disgusting all the spinning they would do and the hate we would get compared to any other team.

We can't control the narrative so why get your blood pressure all riled up over something that's out of our control?

If we get Ben Simmons and the Lakers pick conveys, and Saric comes over, and Embiid is healthy and shows flashes of Most Dominant Ever, the rest of the league is going to be so mad at us that it's not funny. And we who laugh last laugh loudest.

At this point, I'm just going to accept our fate whatever it may be. Even if we don't get Simmons I'd still be happy with Ingram at 2. 3 and 4 would suck but perhaps we can use some of our assets to trade up to at least the 2 spot.

Furthermore, if the Lakers pick doesn't convey, I expect us to compensate for it by being more active in free agency.

In the end, the national media is going to say what they want to say. Let them. I truly believe that this will all work out when all is said and done, and they are the ones that will look foolish.

FYI, old video but fun to watch... Brandon Ingram HAND ABOVE THE BACKBOARD. Wing Player! Scorer! Rim Protecter!

SWEET CONSOLATION.

Dukes Brandon Ingram out of this draft and a proven young player like Bradley Beal or Marcus Smart via Noel Trade will put us right where we need to be.

Not sure that Smart has proven anything yet, but I generally agree.

Ingram would be perfect for us.

Ingram starts out today hitting two three's in a row. Feathery stroke. His FT% is confusing to me.

Ingram has so much potential in all facets of the game, and it seems like he's just starting to realize it. Shooting, taking it to the basket, defense, playmaking. That combined with his length is just scary. Simmons is on another level right now due to readiness but they both have stud potential. The gap between them is closer than that of Ingram & everyone else.

Simmons had a mix of costly turnovers and beastly plays down the stretch.

Beastly stat line as usual.

Ben Simmons is on incredible. Whoever gets him is going to be set for the next 15 years. Omg I want him on the Sixers so bad.

There are often prospects with elite skills, but his elite skills are the hardest to find and that is his feel for the game and his vision.

Since he also has great size and athleticism he is a generational prospect. If he was 6'2 he would still be a lottery pick.

Im at a complete lost tryin to figure out why he is so bad from the line. It really makes no sense. Great 1st half for him today, also had like 6 blocks today. Really quiet in the second half cause they were up by 30 and Duke clearly took their foot off the gas. His defensive potential is really high. Plus his 3 shooting has been outstanding as of late.

I suggest Sixers fans start hating on Simmons to either prepare for the inevitable or hopefully will him to us via hatred..

I'll start...

"what kind of name is Ben, amirite?"

Looks, moves, and shoots a bit too much like Evan Turner.

Dunn & Ingram would be amazing. Picking up a reliable shooting guard with the miami or okc pick would be perfect. Starting 5 - Dunn, ? , Ingram, Saric, Embiid

Best case: Kyle Anderson
Worst case: Jared Jeffries

Dunn with the Lakers pick and Simmons/Ingram would be icing on the cake. Dunn looks like the third best guy for the team after Simmons/Ingram.

Imo, Dunn and Ingram are perfect for this team.
Wouldn't mind getting Simmons either off course.

Do you guys think Dunn is a lock for #3? Someone else slipping by maybe?
Because, to get him with the Lakers' pick, we should hope he's available at 4 off course.

At this moment, I don't see anybody worthy of passing him.
