If we trade our pick it better freaking be lottery protected

The Sixers gain another draft pick. We get a semi-decent veteran power forward that can help this season.

1. Beal for Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson
Lakers get a name player to help recruit free agents. We risk trading a dime for 2 nickels if Beal develops as some think he will, but but the chance of one of Randle or Clarkson developing into an all star may be as good or better than the chance Beal has alone.
2. Beal Nene and lottery protected 2016 1st round pick for Gallinari, Jokic
We'd hope to play Gallo as a small ball 4 mostly. Also add a young big who's already a solid back up. Denver gets younger, Beal can work with Mudiay and Barton as a good young backcourt with complimentary skills.
3. Beal for Noell.
Philadelphia will have more cap space than they can spend next year, minimizing the upcoming salary difference. Noell and Gortat aren't ideal together, but we can stagger their minutes, and the defensive potential during their 15 minutes or so together would be huge. Both teams balance their rosters.

basically nene and a protected pick for ryan anderson
you could either sneer or smile at the idea of such a trade depending on perspective--on one hand this draft is reminding me of 14 where I think the rental of Gortat was completely worth it in hindsight even if we hadn't of kept him because wasting time developing and having the salary of a first rounder from a bad draft isn't really worth it. and if ryan could seriously turn our season around it could help in recruiting KD.
obvious negative is potentially losing ryan for nothing and the draft class apparently improving after the deadline...or a future stud comes from the draft.

I don't like Harden's attitude or lack of defense but his efficiency even in a down year dwarfs anything Beal has ever done. Beal looks like a player, flashes like a player, but for actual production not so much so far. Plus his injuries are a concern.

You don't want to trade your only capable backup center for a big who can't play center. I'd be fine with trading for Anderson for a lottery protected 1st but I would want to trade Humphries and Blair instead of Nene

I was meaning back when harden was on the thunder.
Other than free throws and being a better ball handler( and also playing with kd n Westbrook) they're 3rd season compared isn't much different...(harden also wasn't stuck in randy system)
