Ugh what a stat killing game. However reading the game thread it seemed like Lin was still able to move around pretty well. Goddamn 0/9 one would think his ankle was killing him and he couldnt move at all.

I finally had to stop following Jlinportal on twitter. I couldn't take anymore. Its like following a politician in the middle of a campaign - nothing but gross exaggerations, biased commentary, talking down the other candidates, pumping up your own candidacy, patting yourself on the back.

Just visited that twitter. Pathetic. Damn near psychotic.

I post there. For me the best posters see Lin as a basketball player with strengths and weaknesses and don't take people mentioning weaknesses, like his handles, personally. Some can see if Lin improved his handles under pressure, in a crowd, in certain situations, he'd be a much better player. Others that go on about the next place where Lin can be free to play Lin ball, and that's often with Mike D'Antoni, I simply don't agree with and they can get over the top and personal in disagreeing with me. It's a debate, let's debate. But don't make it personal. Mods do a good job trying to keep the posters from getting personal. I also don't like the everyone is out to get Lin or keep him down mentality. Yeah, he's Asian, but some players and coaches don't care. Some may have their biases, but that's life. I think Lin is accepted in the NBA as a guy you need to guard or he can go off on you. That's respect, in my opinion.

I actually don't look at their twitter. It's undoubtably J Lin advocacy.

I'm a huge fan of yours BW. Its good that site has guys like you who see the Lin and the league thru a very unbiased manner. I'm glad you are here on realgm.

In regards to the twitter account for that site, its a shame because there are some decent tweets they send out, news they catch before other sites, fun pics etc... But I was getting really tired of them retweeting out some of the ridiculous, over-the-top pro Lin tweets (or anti other players, coaches, teams) that are out there on Twitter. I get it, that's their thing, catering to the Lin fans, so I don't expect them to change, but it was just too much for me to handle because I was getting angry when checking my timeline. I'll come here to this thread for any Lin news going forward.

I really like Lin as a player and a person and I am stoked he is a Hornet, but that twitter account was making me dislike him being here because of his fans, so its better I just ignore it before it starts to taint my opinions.

I had followed that twitter account since maybe September and it was all good. However, they really ramped up the craziness in the past few weeks, during the losing streak, playing the non-stop blame games while absolving Lin of any wrong doings ever. I think that was the final straw.

Just checked out that twitter handle for the first time ever out of curiosity. I agree, don't like the overall vibe of the posts or retweets, especially when talking down on Kemba or mentioning him playing on a sprained ankle every 2 seconds lol.

Indeed as big of a fan i am of Lin, i dont want to waste time discussing with morons who have no clue how bball or reality works. The over the top crazies are what gives the rest of the more knowledgeable Lin fans a bad name. Honestly the sock puppet trolls are the worst who pretend to be one of his fans and go insane on everyone while talking about Lin. I swear i dont recall any other player who would prompt such a reaction from haters to go THAT far.

Hell on the Laker board the other day i got called out for being a LOF (Lin only Fan) and the guy tried to shame/witchhunt me off the forum. A mod did step in and tell everyone to STFU but his response made it pretty clear that he held Lin and his fans with distaste even though all i did was talk about how excited i was bout Larry Nance's Jr future. It's literally insane the amount of hate Lin can garner even when he's not on a team and never EVER being a ****/bad teammate.

im also a big fan of lin, and like bws94 i also post on linportal in their game threads. I have to agree with you though, he has alot of rabid fans. Not all of them, but a significant portion of them are crazy. I don't take it personally, since I know the opinions of his fans don't reflect lins own.

I know outsiders don't get the hype surrounding lin, but i hope that they try to understand where his fans are coming from. He is literally one of the ONLY asians currently playing in the nba in a world where nearly half the human population is asian. Combine that with the circumstances of how lin became popular in the first place and you have a recipe for a rabid fanbase. So with that said, i hope you guys can understand all the circus act surrounding lin and just focus on him as a player. Don't let his fans shape the impression you guys have of lin himself, eventhough I know sometimes(alot of times) that can be hard to do.

Also Id like to add that you guys should be greatful....this board is pretty peaceful compared to when lin was on the rockets ie clutchfans(rockets board) and lakers(lakersnation). It was literally a warzone over there every day, the hate was just off the charts bad, full of racist comments and mud slinging from both sides. Bans were handed out on an hourly basis. Hell, the rocketsboard, clutchfans still has a dedicated jeremylin thread for every team hes been on 2 years after he left them, each one of the threads has record # of posts, most out of any thread past or present in clutchfans lol. Compared to whats going on, on those boards, this site is like heaven lol.

If I didn't know what JlinPortal was, I'd think it was a spoof account or something.

 How often have you been to the Charlotte airport recently? Cajun filet biscuit combo, with season fries and sweet tea. (with hot sauce packets for both the sandwich and fries). That's my standard order.

Only time I see their tweets is when someone makes a post with them on their board. I don't actually follow the twitter account nor have an account on the site. I just drop in periodically and sort by new to get a quick check on news tidbits and current discussion. They tend to be a very good aggregator for news, not just JLin news but general Hornets news, because of the distributed manpower of a large fanbase scouring the net for news (including places I can't reach such as foreign language sites).

Precisely why I was bummed I had to stop following them. Like you said, they tend to dig up a lot of Hornets related news that I miss otherwise.
