At this point, I think help provided by Arenas would be about the same as "help" provided by Crawford.

The only team less likely to bring on Arenas than the Wizards is the Mystics.

Jamison, Blatche (6'11 point guard), Arenas, Stevenson, Boykins, Oberto, or McGuire?

Why don't you check Crawford's "numbers" before making "that" comment about "help", "okay"?

lets see
can shoot it from anywhere- check
absolutely sick handles- check
underrated and very entertaining passer - check
walking triple double machine - check
no conscience (unlike the rest of this team, who refuse to shoot and prefer to play hot potato) - check

I admit I was a big time member of the Jordan Crawford bandwagon. I remember when he dunked on Lebron in some camp. I thought for sure he'd be a beast in the NBA and one of our franchise cornerstones.

Reg. the Wall injury....yeah I'm not optimistic at all. We might be better off just sitting him and going full on Ben Simmons tank mode. This team isn't accomplishing jack this year anyway.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

I actually think Jordan Crawford is the type of guy that you take a look at as a walk-on acquisition. There's no question that the guy has talent. He could create his own shot and even play some spot minutes at the PG position with his ball-handling and passing ability. His biggest issue was an over reliance on long 2's and a generally poor understanding of what is a good shot and what isn't; and he was a poor 3-point shooter. He also seemed like a jerk in the locker room. It seems to me that these are all issues that could improve with maturity and experience.

am I missing something here? Wall isn't on the injury report but by this thread you'd think he's out for the season

Did you watch the highlights of his 72-point performance? His shot selection is unchanged. His career PPA: 68. He rated a little above average for nearly 1200 minutes in Boston. And he did improve a bit each season:

Code: Select all

YEAR    MIN     PPA
2010-11 1027    45
2011-12 1753    63
2012-13 1709    70
2013-14 1859    83

I don't think he's worth it. I'd rather they sign a big.

We're talking about signing someone to play PG if Wall goes down with his knee injury. You'd like to see Ryan Hollins at PG? Don't give them any ideas.

And I really don't think you can grade his shot selection based off what he's doing in the chinese league. Ever played pick up ball with 4 kids you're significantly better than?

If we're signing someone to play PG, I'd rather just take someone from the D-League. Or just get by with some combination of Sessions, Neal and Temple.

Yeah maybe. Shot selection looked pretty damn familiar, though. Except they went in at a high rate, which is probably a combination of a hot night against subpar competition.

I don't mean right now. I'm thinking next year after they sign Durant and they have to fill out the roster with vet minimum guys. Crawford might be worth a look. (I suspect that the history between Crawford and the Wizards organization would rule this out, however.)
