Simmons actually has the athleticism to play SF.

You likely have the LAL to pick a guard, oodles of cap space, and Noel who can be moved. There is no need to reach.

I like both prospects, Simmons is clearly superior however picking up either of them would be great. Dropping to three and im gonna start getting mad.

Simmons is a better player right now, but there is an age gap of 13+ months. I need the extra months until the draft to make up my mind. No doubt Ingram is the better fit, but one of these guys might be our superstar, so no need to look at the current roster.

Ingram, just so versatile. Can shoot, incredible wingspan, tall for a SF and SO young!
Simmons, beside his shooting ability he is fundamentally so sound. Way tighter handles than Ingram, can finish with both hands, terrific overview and passer. Plus, he has "it". Every step, every pass you fall in love with him, everything looks so smooth.

The same ones saying pick BPA not fit are the same ones complaining about Jah and Nerlens not fitting.

However, I love Ingram and all I want is a top 2 pick, feel like if we dont get at least a top 2 pick then the tank this year was not worth it. I think Ingram will end up being better since his shot is crispy and I dont see Ben ever getting a reliable jumpshot

Ditto. I have a feeling a lot of the stuff Simmons does against these college teams won't work so easily in the NBA and I don't like the fact that he takes many plays off on defense. I've also never been a fan of perimeter players who don't at least have a decent midrange game.

This team need guys who can shoot from the outside and defend so I'll take the guy with the 7'3 wingspan who has range out to 3.

I don't like LSU sticking Simmons in the back of their zone D. It probably pumps up his rebounds and lets him rest so he can do what he does best; handle the ball at the top of the key and attack the basket. Without a jump shot, he will have a difficult time doing the same thing in the NBA. I love Simmons but I don't love the LSU coaching.

Ingram is playing a style which translates perfectly into the NBA. The next few months will be fun!

I really like Ingram's potential... but i'm not sure if i'm just talking myself into the inevitability of us NOT getting the #1 pick.

I tell you what...i was completely on the Simmons or bust campaign but after watching Ingram....I think I like him better. Just more fluid, athletic and a much better shooter. I wouldn't be disappointed with either but I am glad it is not a 1 horse race like I thought it was...

Well he has "near" his athleticism. He isn't THAT far behind him, and is still a great athlete.

I don't think people are really saying that he is the next Lebron. They are saying that he is the best prospect since Lebron. That is a very different thing.

I don't think that he is as good a prospect as Embiid is on pure basketball grounds, but big men and wings are graded really on different scales.

Simmons realistic ceiling right is scottie Pippen. His floor is Lamar Odom. Either he breaks his ceiling or not it's up to him.

How is this even a topic? Does anyone really see more in Ingram than Simmons? If Ingram is the consolation prize, I can live with it...hopefully he's not our KVH to someone else's Tim Duncan.

Personally, I'm not nearly as impressed by Simmons as many others are and think all this "he's the best prospect since Lebron" stuff is unwarranted. He's a very good player, but he has a number of flaws that keep me from making him the clear-cut choice over Ingram.

I dont get posts like this. His ceiling is Scottie Pippen? Have you watched Simmons play? What about you makes you say his ceiling is one of the best premier perimeter defenders of all time? Hes not a good defender yet and he plays down in the post. Then his floor is Odom? No his floor is a lot lower, thats why they call it a floor. Then they call it a ceiling by saying if he maximizes his potential this is how good he can be.

Agreed. I feel like a lot of people are buying into a lot of what ESPN is saying. We have to remember what the first letter of ESPN stands for. They want to build him up so they get people to watch LSU games which they air almost every game and the draft lottery and draft which they air. Again Simmons is a really good prospect and #1 right now, but hes not a better prospect than Durant, AD, Towns

Are you upset? Ffs. His game offensively mirrors Pippen and as defense goes he has to tools to be a premier defender. That's just my two cents. Don't respond me on a dollar, it's not worth of it.

Ingram seems more likely to be a #1 option. Even if Simmons is a better overall player.

It was not too long ago when posters here were saying

"Wiggins is a generational talent!"

As great as Simmons is/can be there is just something about Ingram that does it for me.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I know I joked about trashing Simmons for the inevitable future but I didn't think you guys would take me seriously.
