I wouldn't go as far as to call him washed up. He's just had a bit of the injury bug with us. He has been dealing with a knee bruise recently but should be back within the next week. For a player that flourished in your system many of you seem to be really down on him. It was only two year's ago he was with you guys and he is still only 28 on a very friendly contract.

He rejected our contract offer after the 2013-14 season, signed with MIA to go ring chasing, and has played in a total of 37 games since then.

We aren't giving up assets to get him back. I don't see any way our FO does that.

That's what MJ said when he was asked. We never really know because Rich "The Vault" Cho is the anti Billy King.

Lopez has a reputation as a poor defender.

I looked into that, and he definitely is not being a poor defender this season (link) and wasn't really one last season (link).

Was not expecting that.

I didn't expect to want him, but I kinda do.

The problem is the system has changed. When McBob was here the offense ran through the high post, where McBob played quarterback. When McBob left Coach tried fitting Cody Zeller into McBob's role, to Zeller and the team's detriment. Now the Hornets are attempting a 4 out offense. Frank Kaminsky has been addded. Batum has become the team quarterback and seems indispensible due to his playmaking and the sweet music he makes with Cody. That's why nobody here wants to trade Batum to you. (Though I do expect MIA to try to sign Batum away this summer). That being said, I would trade you Spencer Hawes for McBob.

Yep this year and even last year his rim protection numbers have been solid. I think he has a career high rebounding rate this season as well. I would love to get him if we could get him for al and a filler and no pick that's a must do.

He'll get injured again and become a crap defender again that's slower than Al. No thank you.

Brook Lopez is great if you want to tank to the bottom of the standings.

Id rather have Thad Young than Lopez. I dont trust Lopez's health and Im kind of tired of plodding bigs.

Lopez isnt the reason why the Nets are losing. He is frustrating to watch because he moves like a robot and he takes the ugliest fading-away; while spinning; off the wrong foot shots but he makes them. He would be unstoppable if he played to his size and jumped straight up and down but he doesnt like contact.

He is very good defensively if he gets to play in the paint. When he is forced out to the perimeter to guard the PnR he sucks. He is too slow to recover. That's not a problem on a team with good defenders who rotate well and communicate.

You arent getting Lopez for the pu pu platter Lowe threw out there. People seem to think that the Nets are going to trade away our two best players (Lopez & Thad) for protected 1st rounders and cap space but that makes zero sense.

The Nets have plenty of cap space to sign players this off season and dont need more at the expense of our only two proven starters. If we traded them then we have zero chance of signing anyone of note. Ive seen Thad's name thrown about on here and he is less likely to be traded then Lopez. Thad is top 5 in points in the paint this year and is 2nd to Milsap at getting steals at PF. He is also our best player in transition although he doesnt get to run often with the plodders we have on the team. He just signed a team friendly contract last season and would only be moved if we were significantly upgrading. He is a favorite of the front office and is the first player to live and play in Brooklyn since the Dodgers left.

Don't care what's going on on other boards. Any posts on here discussing etiquette of our posters on other boards are going to be deleted, we have enough drama on our own without introducing spats from other boards.

Wow, I just read the Braggins exchange on the Nets board and I'm dumbfounded with how he was treated over there initially. I'm not going to tell other boards how to run their boards, that's not my job, but let me just say that if any of our posters reacted to a trade post (in our dedicated trade thread), by saying "GTFO Troll", even if the trade was ridiculous in our eyes, I would warn the person who said "GTFO Troll", not the person posting the trade. The idea of having a fake thread thread is to invite discourse from fans from other teams as long as they are respectful. There is a difference between someone posting a trade that you think is a lowball offer and a troll. A troll is doing it on purpose to illicit a reaction.

In hindsight, maybe Braggins should have just left that board, rather than stick around and try to defend his position, even though I saw nothing wrong with his actions.

My thoughts as well, I was at work laughing out loud when I started reading it. They must have been on their high horse thinking a new gm and coach meant they were automatically in a position of higher bargaining power.

Either way it was pretty ridiculous.

Who says no? Hornets trade Al Jefferson, PJ Hairston, and Top 10 protected pick to Bulls for Joakim Noah and Tony Snell?

Change Snell to either McDermott or Gibson and I'd do it. The 1st ruins it with Snell. Al+PJ for Noah is good
