If he had trouble in the NFC East, oh boy.

He won 10 games his first two years. That's not bad.

The only issue is giving him full control over personnel decisions. Hopefully his time in Philly has helped realize he should only focus on coaching.

Thing is, he lost the respect of the players in Philly. If he doesn't win right away, things could get ugly again in Santa Clara. It's not like Jed is very patient. I expect them to have a new coach in 2 years.

I don't think so. If there is a shakeup down the road it probably will be Tom Gamble replacing Baalke if anything.

Kelly probably wouldn't have gotten this job if not for Gamble being his biggest advocator.

I just don't buy the idea that things will be different because of one guy. Chip completely wore out his welcome. Cut off communication with players & people within the organization. His ego is soo big. Add in the ego's of York & Baalke and the writing is on the wall. The chemistry will likely be ok the first year or two. But at the first sign of trouble, things are likely to nosedive.

I think he can be a decent coach if he reduces his ego and gives up personnel control. Unfortunately Baalke and York have run that 49er team into the ground. He won't have the talent to win, especially with how stacked the Cardinals and Seahawks are.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

i dont think kelly has proved to be bad coach but obviously you dont want him making personnel decisions. not like there was a hot, can't miss coach on the market so i am fine with giving him a shot.

Kelly is a bit of a wild card as coach. Kaep is an uncertain QB. Gabbert actually had a better year but Kaep was a rising star who made the Superbowl and almost won. The Niners right now.....who knows? Kaep? Gabbert? Rookie? Other? Kelly can be a great coach...or a dud. The front office has looked..erratic.
Niners earned a good draft slot but.....they sure bled a lot of talent and seemed rudderless. This season will tell the truth about what way the franchise is headed.
CENSORED... No comment.
