Nah, it was ours. He was pissing them off when he lead the bench on that run in the 4th.

Yeah was just coming back to edit that, my bad.

Though they also said once they'd take him over anyone on the team other than KAT or Wiggins.
Overall great game tonight, no complaints here. Dude over there was hatin on Russ though lol.

Yeah, the hate on Payne was more of a 'ugh, this dude is killing us' hate. More of a compliment than anything.

Here's a question for you: how many guys on the Wolves would you NOT trade straight up for Cameron Payne?

I'm very impressed.

What'd I miss guys? A lot of love for Payne this game.

The stat line doesn't completely do it justice (and that's saying something since it's a very good. Line), he just controls the game so well. Even when he and Russ are in together he gets to run some offense, and it all looks so smooth. He always knows exactly where to go with the ball and is good at spreading it around. I should temper my expectations a bit, but honestly I just see a better distributing Mike Conley more and more.

Hopefully the kid's defense comes along soon. I can't ask too much of the rookie, but he's definitely primed to have a strong offseason with the Thunder. I expect him to add about 5-10 lbs of muscle. Payne clocked in pre-draft at about 6'1 (6'2 in shoes) and at about 180 lbs. I'd like to see him closer to 190. Ideally, 195. If properly trained, his core strength would be significantly better and he would be able to handle alot more bumps and hold his ground when playing defense. I did not know this but Payne's wingspan is about 6'7 (6'7.25). No wonder he can whip the ball around so easily. He's got two big scoopers he's lugging around. His body type is probably closest to Jeff Teague.

No doubt, his offensive prowess is there and the sky is his ceiling but I'll be more interested to see his progression on defensive positioning and how well he can guard the pick and roll this year as well as his ISO defense.

This was one of the more encouraging games over the last few weeks. Our defense was solid most of the time, our role-players decently and KD seemed to be engaged as well. We fell apart a little bit after Russ was subbed out (-104.5 NetRtG over that 5 min stretch), but after Payne came alive we finished the game quite nicely with a NetRtG of +41.4 over that 10 min stretch.

That Kanter-Adams lineup worked nicely in my opinion. As did the Payne-Ibaka-Adams combo. Maybe that's something we should look into as a team - play Kanter more with the starters and Adam more with the bench, just to provide some balance.

Btw: You gotta love the team's reaction when Singler does something positive. Singler almost looks embarassed because he contributed

I don't know, but it seems Kanter is more comfortable with Adams than with Serge. Or more corectly, Serge doesn't like to play with Kanter.
So maybe solution is to play Serge more with Nick.

Payne and Adams yesterday :hail kudos.

Small tidbit that you guys might have missed: Enes Kanter has parted ways with agent Max Ergul. As much as Jazz fans hate Kanter, most informed ones will put most of the blame on Ergul. Enes came into Utah as a young, immature kid and the last thing he needed was an inexperienced agent filling his head with nonsense. He's obviously gotten much better with the change of scenery, and I think this is a very good thing moving forward in his career.

I just saw this last night, wasn't sure if the stuff about his agent was right, but really glad to hear. Thanks!

I don't see why Steven would care, it's not like anyone is suggesting he not start.

Very surprised by Wiggins cheap shot on Adams yesterday. Taking people out in the air is not the sort of reputation a young up and Comer needs.

Steven has taken a big step up in January and improves most line ups he plays with. come playoffs the rotation is likely down to 9 with the starters playing big minutes together so you don't want to disrupt that group too much.

Meaning the Bucks I'm assuming? The only players on your roster that would get him are Middleton and Giannis, so I don't think there's a deal to be had.

MCW can't shoot or run an offense, Payne does exactly that. No need to trade for MCW.
