Just go in expecting parody/tribute to the older Bonds and camp. The film is more about nostalgia and mood-building than it script. I loved it but you can't go in expecting something serious or trying to be profound, like Skyfall. And its a technical marvel.

Thanks, honestly I've kind of found I enjoy the parody to the old Bond humor more than the uber serious ones. I loved the Roger Moore movies that were half goofy. Some of my favorite characters too.

I remember those days too . I would go with my friends, you pay for one movie and then spend the whole day at the movies watching all kinds of crap without even checking rotten tomatoes or IMDB (oh, the horror!).

Yeah, I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so we drove like 30 minutes every Friday night in HS to a decent theater. Make a night trip almost weekly, it was our routine.

I enjoyed Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me; after that . . . mediocre to awful.

When he got older some of them creeped me out (like mid 80s ones), but the Man w/ the Golden Gun is probably my favorite personally.

Didn't like Britt Eklund. On the other hand, the combination of Jane Seymour plus Gloria Hendry in that bikini . . . that was pretty awesome. That and of course Yaphet Kotto (Ah, Smooooth).

Possibly my favorite Bond girl from those days was Eklund actually, though admittedly the blonde in a bikini gets me.

Spoiler:

Also, Nick Nack may be my favorite bad guy sidekick.

Nick Nack was pretty cool.

The Warriors need to win 85.7% of their remaining games to break 73 wins. They won 81.7% of their games last season. We are getting very close to the point where it becomes more than a remote possibility.

I hope Curry and Green won't have those lingering injuries that would force them to miss one or two games, once in a while.

I've already said it on the general board about a month ago, and I know it's a very controversial opinion, but honestly, if I were the Warriors, I would try to play as hard as they can in every RS game, even if it means they would be somewhat tired come playoff time - breaking 72 wins would IMO be a more impressive accomplishment than winning another NBA championship this season, it's just more of an historic accomplishment, especially considering they have already won one title, last year.

Even as someone who started watching the NBA because of Jordan and the 1995-96 Bulls, I would love to see the Warriors breaking their record, would be fun to see it happen, considering that last year, nobody expected GSW to have a chance to do it (unlike for example the Heat in 2010, when people thought they had a good shot at 72 wins in LeBron's, Wade's and Bosh's first season together, knowing how weak the Eastern conference had been at that time).

Well I disagree and I would prioritize winning the title over 72 wins.

A month ago I would've agreed with you, play as hard as you can, but now that the Spurs have broken out as a real challenger I think the priority will be getting healthy for that deathmatch. If they win 72 and then lose to the Spurs in the CF I'll still see this season as a failure.

It would be kinda funny to me if they won 73 games and then lost to the Spurs in the playoffs lol. It'd make for great basketball drama. Bring it on!

It'd be kinda similar to the '73 Celtics, who won 68 games in RS (one shy from then-all-time-highest 69 by the '72 Lakers) and lost to the Knicks in 7 games in conference finals. I could easily see SAS beating GSW in 7 in the playoffs (it'd be possibly the best playoff series ever, too).

That was injuries though wasn't it. Havlicek otoh (obviously the Celtics not being as good as their record too). Wouldn't want it decided by something like that.

Anyway, two great teams this year, a series would be great, and I hope one of them wins it (if they keep playing as they have).

Whose bracket do Thunder and Clippers want to be in, Spurs or Warriors?

For OKC the Spurs, I don't even care how good they are, just the matchup always gives them more trouble.

When the Thunder and Warriors play, who guards Westbrook? Do they usually start with Curry or does allay open the game guarding him? I'd imagine Barnes would guard Kd and Klay on WB and Curry on the 3rd perimeter guy but I can't remember off the top of my head.

This version of GSW, I actually don't know, last year they played once I believe at full health, but it was pre Jackson/Kanter trade (I think OKC won, but don't remember specifics).

Was it against the Warriors last year that Durant dropped 30 in the first half before leaving with injury? Or a different team?

It was against us. The Warriors still led at half time but Durant was going totally bonkers. I remember they gave everyone a shot to contain him - Barnes, Iggy, Klay and even Dray - but it was just one of those nights.

Re: Who guards Westbrook. Curry had Westbrook the last times initially IIRC, but like most times Klay got to guard Westbrook for a good amount of time as well. I'm not entirely sure who would start on Westbrook if the game was tomorrow but I'd guess that after the first foul or after Westbrook actively attempts to tire Curry out by going at him we are going to see Klay switching onto him pretty soon.
