Give boykins the ball, have shaq pick boykins up, have shaq walk to the basket, have boykins dunk it in.

Yeah... like saying play on stilts? Even 12" Elton John platforms.. you can't run, jump. Any bump and you fall over. five ft tall shoes? The hell.. you' d be better off dragging around a step ladder.

The perfect strategy here is not running but staying planted in the paint area of the offensive basket for your squad and getting fed the ball. Guaranteed bucket every time down the court. If needed do the reverse for defending the paint out of timeouts or when in a deficit.

*Until the other team matches you with 5ft shoes on an even taller player.

I envy OP's creativity.

Would a player be allowed to wear shoes that are 5 feet tall (ex. a 6 foot player in shoes is now an 11 foot player)? Is there a rule prohibiting this?

Pros:
1. Guaranteed 2 points, or free throws.
2. Interior defense would be improved
3. Defensive rebounds = guaranteed
4. Easy last second lobs when there is less than .4 on the clock for a tip in

Cons:
1. If the player is fouled, he would need help getting up but this is the case even with players who wear normal shoes, they always wait for teammates to pick them up.
2. The 24 second clock would be challenging the player to get down the court in time to get position
3. If the player has trouble shooting free throws due to height, may be hacked a lot.
4. If he loses a shoe on a possession, team may need to call time out to help him get it back on

What are your thoughts? Would a player be allowed to wear shoes like this or is there some written rule prohibiting shoes from being taller than a certain height?

do you have a girlfriend? have you tried watching her walk with even 4" heels? now imagine people running with that? there would be so many broken ankles in the first 5 minutes.

Yes, I have, but let's be real here...I think men, given enough time, would be better coordinated running in 5 foot long shoes, than women in 4 inch heels...also, it would be more of a shuffle than an actual sprint. Think...powerwalking - one foot always on the floor.

then imagine a guy with stilts trying to run. because of balance, it would take him quite a bit of distance to build up momentum and also a bit of distance to slow down. People would run circles around them. And someone could body them up and knock them off balance, they wouldnt be able to reposition without falling down.

I had a Russian girlfriend at one point. Piece of cake for her.

I have always wondered if you can have springs in your shoes. But having springs in your 5 feet shoes is a game changer.

Maybe a more realistic alternative are those running blades, modified to help you jump higher.

But any equipment designed to give you an unfair advantage would be banned within one game i'll bet. Including, stilt-shoes? That is if you dont break both of your ankles in that first game anyway. You dont think the opposing players wont be bumping you on each and every play in the paint? You'd be on the ground with concussions in the first quarter.
