Thank God I didn't watch the game today. After the game against the Celtics I promised myself I will never watch another game as long as Knight is the PG. See you guys next season

Paul Coro wrote:A guy doesn’t have pride to go out and stop someone,” Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. “They shoot 57 percent. You can’t have the coaches go out there and guard them. It’s just straight-line drives. That’s pride. These guys can call themselves basketball players. Until you try to go out there and stop somebody and get in front of somebody and take a charge and do something … we’ve got one or two guys maybe on this team that do that.

“When you give up 40 free throws, that means you’re not guarding anybody. To me, if I’m out there playing, I’m at least guarding my guy.”

“The effort was somewhat there in the first half, but once they got down 17, 18, then they didn’t have that effort ... whatever,” Hornacek said before crumpling the box-score sheet.

He just keeps repeating the same things. It's literally his job to get guys to play smart and hard, and "with pride." He has failed to motivate them all year.

It's his job to put his guys in the best position to succeed. Whether or not he's doing THAT is a different story, but These are grown men he's coaching, it's on them to bring the effort they're paid millions of dollars to bring, not Jeff.

Correction:

Hornacek has failed to motivate this team since last years trade deadline. I am not sure he did anything of consequence prior to that either. The 48 win team was a bunch of hungry players playing for their next contract. Any player worth a crap on this team already got their money.

If there ever has been a case of firing a coach this is it.

That does not mean we will be worth a crap. It is like a marriage where the two never communicate with one another. Divorce should happen in the AM but I doubt Sarver is that bright.

If Sarver continues to put the players, Hornacek and the fans through this crap much longer he is a bigger idiot than I give him credit for.

I do feel sorry for Hornacek but I feel sorrier for myself.

Well, he hasn't put them in the best position to succeed, and it is his job to motivate players and get buy in. I agree part of the blame falls on the players, particularly when it gets to this point, but motivation is certainly a part of a head coach's job at any level.

After winning the CBA All-Star Game MVP award for the second consecutive year, Mike Beasley’s $1,500 cash prize was stolen from his gym bag in the locker room.

Beasley went to the police to try and track down the missing cash, but before they could find out who did it the “fan” (probably a member of the media seeing how they are the only ones with locker room access) brought it back to authorities. Finally, Beasley got his $1,500 back. Beasley earned $32 million in seven years playing in the NBA. The NBA All-Star Game MVP gets $100,000 from the league.

Remember when we started the season as a top rebounding team? We were owning teams on the boards and even holding our own against teams like MEM and CHI, teams that historically destroy us?

The only difference is that Len is playing with a busted hand and Bled is out. I don't think that should make too much of a difference - we've just lost the motivation. Heads are down and the guys are going through the motions. I don't give a crap about the vets, who all seem to be playing selfish ball right now - I worry about the young guys becoming disengaged and developing bad attitudes towards this franchise because of the toxic environment.

We need to hit the reset button sooner rather than later. I was an advocate of giving Horny a chance without his goofball assistants, but that clearly hasn't given him a stronger voice or struck a chord with the playing group. It's time for him to go and we need a secure a guy with a voice.

I'm all in for Thibodeau, he will implement a defensive foundation and instill that mentality in the young guys. There will be an accountable blueprint to work off that will carry on as they develop.

Just trade all the whiny, half assing vets already.

^ another reason why we should blow it up and trade Knight/ Chandler/ Morris to CHI for Rose/ Noah/ Portis. Thibs gets a few of his old guys who will work with him and keep everyone on the same page. Noah, while injured, can mentor Len from the sidelines.

Last thing - if we're smart, we'll have the changes in place prior to the All Star break, so a new coach will have 5-7 days to drill a new system into these guys. I don't care if we can't score - that will come in time - I just want to see our guys working on D and start holding teams to under 100 points.

There were some reports about Thibodau/Nets.... he doesn't want to sign with a no contender, no way he signs here even for a 10M contract.

If the nets have a shot, then I don't see why we wouldn't. We're about as close to contending as they are!
